Tire dressing opinions

Im currently looking for some opinions on some dry to the touch tire dressings. Right now I use tuf shine and love it but a 6oz bottle is 25 bucks plus shipping. I wonder if there is something comparable out there that works as advertised. I like a little shine but nothing super wet.
 
I use Meg Hyper Dressing and it will dry to the touch, but you still need to wipe it after it dries to prevent any build up from slinging off. You can dilute it to get the amount of shine that you want. You can get a gallon and it will last a really long time especially after yo dilute it. Meguiars D170 Hyper Dressing
I have never tried TufShine so I'm not sure what it is. The Megs does work well.
 
PERL will work well and dries very fast. You just aren't going to get the durability that you get from tuf shine.
 
PERL is my favorite followed closely by Opti-Bond applied with Optimim sprayer at 40psi.
 
I think you'll have a tough time finding something as good as tuf shine. The gels I've tired have a hard time getting into all the little texture found on some tires and end up looking splotchy in those areas. The liquid and sprays just don't have the staying power and most sling.

I tried tuf shine for the first time this weekend on the wifes tires and it was WAY easier than anything else I've tried. Unless this stuff is highly cancerous through gloves or found to be a serial baby killer, I'm sticking with it.

There was a lot of talk about the duplicolor tire shine that was at SEMA, looks like it's finally on duplicolor's website, I haven't seen any reviews yet or in stores.

:iagree: At the car shows I will usually put on a fresh coat, let it soak in by the time I get back to the first tire I take a towel and wipe off.
Tip: If you will get a designated applicator and keep it in a zip loc back you will use less product.
 
I'd say try some Ultima Tire & Trim Guard. It's supposed to lasts months.

I just bought some and applied to my tires over the weekend. I also have Tuff Shine that i will use on another car.
 
Opti is a good option when applied sparingly, and leaves a decent matte finish with very little gloss.

Also Autoglym Instant Tyre Dressing is a pretty solid product for the money. Its a fairly thin liquid, so you wont have any issues with it slinging once set.

I use duragloss 251. I like that it's flat black and leaves the tire looking brand new. It last a long time and it beads like crazy. Love this stuff.
 
Poorboy's Bright and Bold, 32oz for $17.
Good price, good looks and easy to apply. And it doesn't attract dog/cat hair, HA!

Ultima is good too, but a bit overpriced.
 
I created a thread where i tested 3 different dressings. I have a few more i am going to test here hopefully sooner then later, maybe this friday?

The 6oz bottle should last awhile, how often do you retreat ?
 
The Tuf shine is not cheap when you look at the cost per ounce.When you consider how little you use and how infrequently you need to apply the cost is much more affordable, not to mention that I have not found anything else that works as well including UTTG, Opti Bond, DP Tire Gel Wolfgang, and a few others.

Do you put the clear coat over it? If not, thats what you are missing. Should last between 2-3 months

Only? You must be doing something wrong. Nothing outlasts TUF Shine.

If you want to try something different look into Optimum Opti-Bond Tire Gel, Zaino Z16 or CarPro PERL.
Ultima Tire & Trim Guard Plus is very nice, but too good for tires...

It has been five weeks on my mothers car @ two applications, and they still have a medium gloss and look wet, they don't drive it but a couple times a week but the car sits outside all the time. It has been two weeks @ one application ( bought tires) on my car and it still looks low gloss and wet as well, with me driving 50 or so miles a day and one big rain storm, it is also parked out side 24/7. The key is to clean the tires very thoroughly. Just one try and you will love it.
