The Best Paste Wax is...

FUNX725: It's difficult to find a Wax-product that's contains only natural wax(es).

You won't find one. Carnauba wax in its virgin form is almost as hard as a rock. Solvents are required to make the wax usable.
That's true about the carnauba wax/solvents relationship...
But that is not what I was referencing.

I meant Automotive-Wax products that contain no synthetic (man-made) components that are likened to what constitutes products that we usually call Sealants.

Got to give my props to collinite 476. Relatively easy to apply and gives great protection

I hate paste wax!!!!!

Need to use toothbrush for next 2 weeks..

then you still find more to do

Looking through this thread, I'm wondering what happened to some of these posters.

So how would you compare p21s with p21s 100%, swanicyouth?

.

Either P21S is very good IMHO. The 100% is a tad more difficult to work with but lasts longer. The "Concours" has other waxes in it besides carnauba. I'm not inclined to say the 100% is better, just a little different.

Looking at some of them........the majority is still active.......maybe wrong on my part.

some folks move on some hang around.........shoot I've been here for over 4 years and it seems like I joined just yesterday......

And I'll stick to my earlier post in this thread........I'm still looking!

Since starting this post, I think the two best overall waxes I've used are NaviWax Ultimate and Synergy.

These are a great blend of looks and durability.

Which is better looking?

P21s 100% looks fantastic. Easy on and off for me as well, but here in Florida I have noticed some sweating after application with our high humidity and heat. I think the high carnauba content has something to do with that. Haven't tried the regular version. I'd like to try out some Pete's 53 and compare it against that, and I have borrowed Pinnacle Souveran for use but never on a dark car unfortunately. Seems to apply and remove smoothly like P21s, but once waxes get above $50 I start to look at more affordable products with higher durability than boutique show waxes.

Other waxes mentioned in this thread are Meguiar's Ultimate Paste and even Turtle Wax's latest Ice Paste formula. Both surprisingly good for the price. UPW is literally like applying butter, I'd say easier than P21s. And as mentioned, Ice Paste has excellent and durable water repellency characteristics. If I had nothing and had to pick one paste wax, I'd go with Meg's UPW based on ease of use, price, and it surely isn't lacking in the looks department.

Pete's 53 is an excellent product and one of CG's best for the $$. 50/50 is excellent too, then above those I've not seen any measurable benefits in their line up for the extra $$$.

The first time I saw the beading of the original Ice Paste, I was stunned that it resembled the Zymol Carbon I was using.

I agree that it's pretty durable. In August I put a coat on my gf's truck, and it's beading like it did back in August. I don't think it's as clear as other products though. It used to give my red Monte Carlo an orange-ish tint.

I always go to Liquid Souveran because it pops the most on my silver paint.
I also like my BlackICE because its so easy to spread and remove.
Honestly, I'm constantly layering 4*UPP, Wolfgang Spray Sealant, Liquid Souveran, BlackICE, etc. that I'm not sure if I can tell them much apart anymore.

On a side note, having different waxes presents unique application techniques, which keeps me occupied and I think is fun. I've learned knowing how to adjust to the waxes' different nuances is a lot of fun. For example, I have found if Liquid Souveran is applied evenly and thin, it hardly needs to be wiped off.

That's amazing. That Ice Paste wouldn't last a month down here in Florida in the months from May to October. I get barely 30 days of beading out of any nubas no matter the wax during the summer months. I put sealants on my dd and get almost no beading after a couple months. This state is truly the testing ground for wax and sealant durability. That's what's really good about AG and their location, their products are tested down here in the super harsh heat and rain and humidity. We get beating tropical rains practically every day from June-early October and uv indexes of 9-10 during that time period too, and the sun is beating straight down. Heck it's gonna be in the 80's this weekend down here in Tampa!

I seem to always come back to BF Midnight Sun. Although I have a pot of Auto Finesse Desire & PBL Synergy awaiting to be used for the first time. We'll see how it goes...

^ salt is worse than sun.

Salt is corrosive indeed, though not a fair comparison to uv rays. They are two different types of exposures. Betcha see more rusted out cars in your area than here but a heck of a lot more failed clear coat and used up paint down here. I have a buddy, he religiously used Zaino Z-2 for ten years on his red Ford F-150 and his truck sat outside at work the whole time, the clear is TOAST on the hood, roof and upper panels.

Is that the older blue tint Ice Paste? They definitely changed something on the latest version, it's now an off white beige color. I never tried out that old blue version, the one I found sitting in my uncle's garage was moldy so I threw it out. Then I saw the latest version at the store for $13 and I hadn't used a Turtle Wax product for a while, but it's not a bad wax at all, it's great at its price point without a doubt. It dries fast on the panel, so it's not a paste wax that you can do the entire car with and then buff it off, you apply and remove panel by panel. Just not as buttery smooth like Meg's UPW or NXT 2.0 to apply and remove. And the more cars I do, the more I value that total ease of use approach.

It might, being that it's a full synthetic.

Dang, 80°.... That sounds really nice!!
