Waterless wash??

I have been noticing a lot more references to waterless wash. It it a great idea but i am a little worried. How dirty of a vehicle could it handle? I have seen the megs one at wal mart and i feel that its a little expensive. The bottle says it can do 5 cars. So i would assume about 3 suvs and it cost 20 bucks.

So i guess what im asking is how good can it wash? What kind do you guys use? And anything else you would like to post.

I use DP waterless wash, i buy the concentrate and mix based on their directions. It won't washa mud caked car, for that you'd need traditional methods. But for a good dusting, or after a rain fall it's great. I use it in between major washes to get some of the mild dust and dirt off, DP is very slick and it's great. Some other here would suggest to try Ultima too.
 
Search the thread by Mike Phillips on differences of waterless, Rinseless, and quick detailer. that's good start.

Generally hose off heavy dirt before using these products.

QD for dust

Waterless for light dust, pollen, water spots.

Rinseless for next level up.

I like DP products. But also love Ultima WWP because it can dilute to all 3 categories.
 
Just get the wash that is the standared. ONR.

After i polished the hell out of my car and tried a rinseless wash and saw how great it worked out without installing new swirls or scratches, i was scared to go back to a traditional wash.

Waterless will probably end up making me preffer it than a rinseless and a traditional wash, but the cost is a little much for me at the moment.
 
I've done my car when it's pretty dirty. But I pressure wash it off first to get rid of the heavy dirt then come back and dry it with the waterless. It's awesome for when all you want to do is spiff up your car after getting dusty or rained on. In fact I didy mini coop in about 15 the other night when it wasn't dirty but really wasn't clean. Once you get the disease you'll know what I mean by that. Another plus is that you can use it on windows and man does it bead the water. I use the CG waterless and have always loved it.

He's doing the ONR not the waterless system. But if your literal it only waterless because you spray on and take off without using any water in buckets.

This is one of those topics that drives me crazy because you can use products labeled as rinseless as waterless and products labeled waterless as rinseless. It all depends on the application. You can put ONR in a spray bottle and you can put UWW+ in a bucket. They are both great products and I use them both for both applications. Which application you choose is really a matter of common sense. The more dirt you have on the vehicle surface, the more liquid you are going to want to lift up the dirt so you don't scratch the vehicle. If you have to pull the trigger on the spray bottle so many times that your hand hurts in order to liquify the dirt, you probably should be using a bucket.
 
Opti-Clean 32oz = $17
It can be diluted 4:1, so it's basically 1 gallon for $17.

Lubricity is excellent and it can also be used on every interior surface.
I haven't washed with water in a loooong time.
 
The Ultima product is the best and by far the cheapest. Opti Clean is also an excellent WW, it just will cost more. ONR is not a waterless wash and I no where near as slick as the previous two. If your car is pretty dirty, and only you can decide, you should pressure wash first. If you don't, you'll End up using a thousand MF towels, as each surface will be too dirty to reuse after 1 pass. I can't see anyone who knows better buying the Meg's product, because. It's soooo costly compared to the concentrates and hasn't been reviewed as well.
 
UWWP works very well and is very cost effective when purchased in the concentrate.

I use UWWP when my vehicle has a light layer of dust or dirt. I use ONR when the vehicle is dirtier.

Just dilute UWWP 1 oz for 3 gal of water and you have a rinseless. It's right on the bottle. Save your money and just buy 1 :)Im the MAN
