Help Me Select A Shampoo..not sure on DG

I've used DG shampoo the last couple of washes. 5 oz to 5 gallons. I've also added 1 oz ONR, as I have hard water and it seems to help eliminate spotting.

It just doesnt seem really slick or "thick." I want a shampoo that clings more, clean decently, but doesnt strip. I am ok with a gloss enhancing shampoo. I want something reasonably priced.

CG Glossworkz? Your suggestions are GREATLY appreciated!
 
Optimum car wash. Probably the one of the most underrated car washes. Not too many people talk about it.

:iagree: I'm a huge fan of DG901 and this runs a very close second!
 
cg wash and gloss hands down bang for buck and suds/lubricity, auto bathe is great but pricey

I've enjoyed Poorboys Super Slick Suds a great deal. Very clingy yet soft shampoo that feels rich and slippery on the paint surface.

I believe you're going to experience the same issues regardless of soap, but I very well could be wrong. Have you tried using the DG soap without ONR added? If you're set on trying something else then I would take a look at Optimum Car Wash. That stuff is incredible, super slick, very sudsy and the suds don't stop. At least you can mix ONR without fear of interference due to different polymers used.
 
Adding ONR to your wash is a double-edged sword. Yes, it makes the water softer but it comes at the cost of the suds, regardless of the soap.

Chemical Guy's Citrus Wash & Gloss is really good... it's very potent, and aggressive enough in a slightly higher dilution ratio to strip wax, which is really what I love it for as a MUCH better replacement for Dawn. I like starting 'from scratch' on customers cars for an accurate apprise of paint condition, and also the security of knowing anything I apply to the paint will bond correctly.

I should also say I am not well versed in many other shampoos, as I have only used four or five over the years, but I really like this one in particular. Although, I am really curious about Optimum's shampoo now after hearing the suggestions.

I am STILL in the search for a total finessing shampoo, something with basically ZERO cleansing ability over and above a very mild high glossing effect, so I know an already-clean vehicle will retain all of it's wax and protection.
 
Wash and gloss in lower dilution ratio is pretty safe, correct? Seems like a nice product, but I also want to try glossworkz...decisions...
 
There is nothing wrong with DG 901. Adding ONR is what is changing its lubricity "feeling" and reducing the suds that DG normally produces. As was said before adding ONR is indeed a double edged sword.

Glossworkz is a nice maintenance wash but can't touch DG in terms of cleaning.
 
I have just tried the Chemical Guys Honey dew snow foam soap and it is amazing , 1oz to 4-5 gallons water , super slick and good cleaning abilities.

Good point...I added ONR to my wash once, it KILLED all my foam.....

Never again....
 
I have Mother's California Gold, Pinnacle XMT Gel Conditioning Shampoo and Dodo SPGES. They all suds up just fine for me.

While I don't have it anymore, Mother's Wash and Wax is good as well (scent is amazing).
 
Cg wash and gloss won't strip until you add 4x the rec. amount
 
Optimum car wash is my favorite right now. Lots of suds and does a real nice job, lasts a long time too.

I want to try the Duraglass shampoo as well as Megs Hyper wash
