For you Tech Guys *New Verizon Plan*

When TV stopped being free (i.e. cable, many years ago)..... I just turned it off and never turned it back on.

Will do the same when unlimited data turns into charge-per-MB data.

Phone company text messaging costs are already criminally outrageous.

People will soon find they're happier being disconnected, if they haven't discovered this already.

*bump*

For those who didn't know, I wanted to pull this back up since tomorrow is the last day. New shared plan starts June 28th.

I got screwed by 2 days. I'm going with the S3 and not waiting for new iPhone.

I'm a little disappointed on the new system they are switching to. I don't have an unlimited plan but my data package is unlimited so it's going to cost me more for their packages.

You and me both. I'd say switch to a new carrier but they are all switching but Sprint.

I know I am in a minority but the share plan will save me at least $100 a month. We are heavy users and have 5 phones 2 iPads and 2 MiFi cards. My wife is a Realtor and we currently have a 3000 min plan. We gave up our unlimited data plans a year ago and should be able to get by with 10 gig on the shared plan. I understand why people are upset because it is going to cost some people
more.

Yes I believe larger families will make out here. Small families and single users are the biggest snubs.

I will be updating in July when the S3 comes to stores. Will update on my bill. Right now I pay 155 for 2 smartphones with insurance on a 700 minute unlimited data pan.

As promised I am updating on my experience.

I was charged a $30 fee, but my account showed a $30 credit to cancel the renew contract fee.

I was forced to switch to a "Share All" plan in which my wife and I will share 4 gig of data between mobile devices. (change from unlimited on 2 phones)

The bad:

Plan changed, no more unlimited data.

The Good:

We averaged .5 gig a month combined. Granted I barely used my Blackberry since I got an iPad that I use on our wireless at home.

My bill actually went down $2.

We can now use our phones as hot-spots for other devices. Which is great i can use my iPad away from my wireless router now. Before you were charged per-line for adding data.

All in all I think it will be okay. Especially since I have wifi at work and home if we are getting close to our data limit.

Good luck to all. My S3 comes in tomorrow;)

So are they keeping the tethering charge that I'd have to pay to us my iPhone as a hot spot? When I had my Blackberry it was an extra $30.

I'm still not happy about it but I can see how some will save. My parents will save when they switch over but I'll pay an extra $20 if I'm figuring right. It might be a little more
