A Chicagoland get together?

I see all the bootcamps down in FLA and they're surely a wealth of knowledge for sure but I was wondering if we could do something like this in our backyard? I see we've got quite a few members here, as well as shops, so it would cool as hell to get together and put a name with a face, as well as check out some great cars and learn some tips and tricks from people, everyone has something to offer the group I'm sure!

Now I live in apartment and have no garage to offer the group, I'm just throwing this out there to see what sticks. Its the middle of summer and really getting hot right now, so I'm thinking by the time this would grow legs, it could be early fall and the weather would be perfect.

So, if you've got access to a shop of some size or a pretty large garage or barn and wanna host something like this, I think it would be a great time, Chicagoland has some of the nicest cars out there and this is coming from someone who grew up in Detroit, car capital of the world, Chicagoland has it going on for sure, hands down:props:
 
I am in Central Illinois and would be totally down for coming to this as Florida is just too far to drive :)
 
I am also for a Chicagoland meet , but like you dont have a place to hold it . A few years ago we had a meet and it was great. A member had a shop and we held it there. we all chipped in for Pizza and pop, and we worked on 3 cars.
 
Yeah we could find a deserving car(s) to do, bring our stuff and each do a section of the car (front/doors/rear). We could surely find some people that have done something for the community that deserve something like this, I believe in good karma, even if it doesn't come back to me, I know I'd be apart of something nice for someone, plus we get to all meet up, hang out, check out each others cars, learn something and have a generally good time doing so.

Now we just need to find that shop and/or garage big enough, just getting it out there, we'll end up with something!

I would be game for a Chicagoland meetup. I just don't have access to a garage large enough....

Well the interest is growing, so that's half the battle, thanks for the input guys, keep it coming!
 
I might be able to come down, depending on the date. My brother has been on my case to take a weekend off and visit him anyways..
 
Yeah, surrounding areas are most welcome for sure. Once we get a place to do this, we can then select a date that works best for everyone, well, most everyone!
 
I would definitely be down for this. Just started detailing and would like to see what other people do to cut down on time! Someone with a garage open up your doors for us. Please!

Yeah, you could do a little something to the car and get it prepped for the Dragon run!

Interest is growing, now we've got people from out of state interested, things are moving along, this might turn into a mid-west meet, wouldn't that be cool! I'm almost thinking we'll need an actual shop now:xyxthumbs:

True daily driver, rain, sleet and snow, its the only car I've got!

I drive through your town on my way to work, screw those tolls, I go up to Roosevelt via Belmost/Findley, then over to 53, on my way to Army Trail and back on the "free"-way!

Tim, post some pics from your stable, you've got some nice rides there for sure! BTW, any chance I could take a spin in your ride, I've never driven a Z06.....you could in turn take my 2 seater for a test drive, LOL!
 
Lets get a bit more momentum with a list of names of COMMITTED individuals, determine a rough date based on availability, and work from there. I have an idea on a location, but I'm not about to start wasting someones time if this doesnt happen.

I was thinking a weekend towards the end of July.
 
I am very interested in this. But what I personally would like to see is an Autogeek sponsored bootcamp run by Mike right here in Chicagoland
 
Im in I live 2 hrs from Chicago and would love an autogeek sponsored event.
