Favorite all purpose cleaner

Just ordered a gallon of Optimum's APC.

WHY IS THE MEG'S VERSION NO LONGER AVAILABLE on AutoGeek's website?

Super Degreaser!

Yes you heard that right, Meg's Super Degreaser diluted 15:1 works perfectly fine. I always used APC+ at 10:1 but recently read an article by Bob Keppel, claiming that he switched to super degreaser. I was extremely hesitant at first but made the switch and it's saving me money and working just fine. Works well on vinyl, plastic, upholstery and carpet, especially if paired with a steamer. Smell is better too imo. Is anybody else doing this?

I wouldn't do this myself. Especially on more delicate surfaces. SD and APC are both designed for different jobs. You may get away with no issues for a long time but the day SD stains or discolours something you may regret it. If buying is gallons 10:1 is only 42c per quart. The cost saving versus the risk is not worth it.

I'll admit, I expected some flak about this. I'm definitely not suggesting anybody else try it. I'm still in the experimental stage with it and am being very careful, but it seems to be working really great. I'm mostly using it on nasty dealer cars. On a nicer car or exotic I'd probably stick to APC + at 10:1, just to be extra safe. Just for the record, I've seen APC + at 10:1 discolor black plastic, do some weird things to leather, and every once in a while it will do funky things to clear plastic. So you really have to be careful with any cleaning chemical imo.

Thanks so much!! I went to order some this past weekend, and it said "No longer available" in my Wish List.

I have the Super Degreaser coming in the mail Thursday with another huge order, 15:1 huh? Shoot, I already also bought the gallon of Optimum's APC. Maybe I can use one for a certain fabric/purpose, and the other for something else?

Just have to chime in and say, one thing I've learned over many years, mainly cleaning non-car things, is that the proper application of just plain water, with care and the right technique, is often one of the safest and best things to do. You'd be amazed how well this works; a lot of cleaners are more time-savers than they are improvements on the final results (obviously not the case for paint wash and wax, etc.).

Yup, I use mostly water to clean up my cat's mess... But on cars you always have some stubborn grime that has been sitting there for ages (for non-autogeeks at least), so a good APC is necessary.

And most APCs today are water based, so there's really no risk.. The only risk would be the heavy scrubbing..

Just got a gallon of both Optimum's Power Clean, as well as Meg's Super Degreaser.

I haven't used OPC yet, but used the degreaser on a fleet of Classic cars that are being prepped for a big auction we were commissioned to restore and detail, and I loved it!

I have been using Optimum Power Clean for a couple months now, LOVE IT, W-O-W! :)
