2006 Corvette Zo6: Someone's a proud papa

Factory L28, triple webber side draft carbs, beefed up internals and currently getting hefty suspension upgrades and powder coating. One of two long term projects, won't be going anywhere for a while. They are currently building two other 280/240z cars and one of which has a 6.0+ LSx motor transplant. The other is getting a lot of new floor panels and such welded in due to excessive rust.

I detailed this one about four years ago, their shop #### and their first to get a Chevy 6.0, since then has been outfitted with a lot of go fast parts. At the time it sat forever in a fab shop and I ruined four clay bars pulling off all the fallout. Still shines today.

Nice!! Is this in Texas from the pic?

Here is my '71 240Z. Built L28ET, Extrudabody ITB, soon to be turbo too much too list:

Yessir! Houston! If you're curious the shop is PowerFab Auto. Did this one for them too. Similar to what you're describing for your personal goals. The ITB's are sexy but might have to go when you switch to forced induction.

I HAD more pics than this, but I can't find them on my computer or photobucket account. I HOPE they're on my camera. :( This one is fully restored with a turbo installed by them. All the factory gauge pods are fitted nicely with white indiglo Autometers. She's a beauty. At the time I detailed the orange one, this was on the only lift in the shop getting a custom fuel tank, and they weren't even officially open at the time. Heck, I was still very young in my own detailing career. Oh memories.

Amazing work!!! Especially for a Corvette, and a black on at that... I've heard countless horror stores about how rock hard the clear coat is on vettes. It can be a good thing, but when you get swirls... It's a nightmare!

I appreciate it! I wish I could detail full time as well, unfortunately I only work on a few cars a month.

Great job! Amazing! What products did you use? Thanks

For paint corrections, I used
Makita 9227c + LC white wool braided and white VC pads
3M rubbing compound
3M machine polish

BTW I'm ditching 3M for 105/205. If you want to know why you can read it here: http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum...rustration-3m-products-input-appreciated.html

Kinda disappointed Mike didn't respond, but reading some info from a few of his other recent posts have clarified the issue somewhat and I still feel 105/205 is a move in the right direction for me.

Flex 3401 w/ LC black CCS pad
P085RD

Two coats of Blackfire Wet Diamond
One coat of Blackfire Midnight Sun

Looks awesome, the final sun shots are a testament to what you can do!
