My moms Outback is in need of 4 new tires.

I don't even know what to look for as there are so many options compared to what there was for my Altima.

All she needs is a good driving tire that will last. But not be outragously expensive. I was thinking an all season or touring tire of some sort. She didn't give me a price limit, but I don't want to break her wallet.

Can anyone make any recommenedations from these lists?

The Yoks and Pirellis are solid. American/Discount has $100 Visa with purchase of 4 new tires for June 29 and June 30th.

I'm aware of the sale. That is why I am trying to figure this out now. Its good timing.

Continental DWS. Check out the reviews. Best all season I've used on my Audi.

By the way, i am getting 4 wheels and 4 tires for my wife's Subi because of this deal. $200 rebate is awesome :)

These are really good if you can find them in that size.

Continental is exactly what I was going to suggest.

But I went to your links and they were not listed.

I just put a set on a Toyota 4Runner and they are really good. Took it out into the Mojave Desert and went up and down a lot of steep Jeep trails with out any traction problems. Plus they drove very nicely on pavement at a hundred miles an hour. No rain in SoCal so they haven't been tested in the wet yet.

So I went with the Optimo H727 recommened by Rider. My brother is telling me that I should have gone with something cheaper because they will probably go bad before the warranty? Did I make an error? I looked on tirerack and they got really got ratings.

I agreed w/ your bro. I had two set of wheelsets...1 set for winter and 1 set for summer. Both are Yokohama and they lasted 9 years. My Sequioa have 147000 mi on it. So i guess divide it by 2 and you understand how good these Yokohamas are. I finally replaced the summer set 2 weeks ago w/ another set of Yokohamas.

I came across a 50 dollar rebate on discount tire direct for the hankooks I ordered in store. Getting $150 back as long as they rebates actually work. woohoo

Hankook Tires are very good inexpensive tires. I had a set of the Ventus V12 on my old truck and they handeled great and lasted the longest.

2004 Chevy Colorado ZQ8

1st set - Continental Touring Contact Very noisy, didn't last long at all and were horrible in the rain.

2nd set - Nitto Invo Very quite and handled pretty good but the tread did not last long at all

3rd set - Hankook V12 Awesome tire, handled excellent, and lasted

4th set - Sumitomo HTR Z III not a bad tire but the Hankook was a little quieter and gripped better in the rain. Only had these on the truck for 4 months before I wrecked it so can't comment on how long they lasted.

I prefer Michelin above others. Check Tirerack.com for best fit for your moms driving needs and the best fit for her,

:iagree:

I'm with Jim on this one... Michelin's are a great tires and are hard to beat. When my Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar tires need replacing then I'll switch over to Michelin Pilot Sport PS2....

In case any of you missed it, I did go with the Hankook Optimo H727. Along with the $100 dollar Visa card, I sent in the $50 dollar Hankook rebate that I found as well.

For my Altima however, the wheels are wearing Yokohama S-Drives and I love them. Massive grip and they are quiet. Have about 15k miles on them so far and they have plenty of lifeleft.
