I absolutely love UPGP and UTTG but I really have mixed results with UIGP. I used Poorboy's World Natural Look dressing until seeing Corey's Reviews of the Ultima line of products. The Ultima line was something that I couldn't seem to get over the price per bottle on, but was I totally wrong? The performance of UPGP for the price per application just can't be beat. The only thing I wanted more in a product than what Poorboy's Natural Look was providing was longer durability. The look of Natural look when applied correctly (Less is More) can't be beat in my opinion.
I have had stellar looking results with UIGP on certain vehicles however, I have experienced a splotchy whitening effect on the black or dark gray dash and console plastic of both Range Rovers and the Toyota Prius. I clean the plastic with a 10:1 dilution of an APC then rinse with a water dampened towel, before applying UIGP as thin as possible being sure to work the product in as thorough as possible. It looks great at first, but later after some curing time I get a terrible look on the dash and sometimes other interior plastics.
here's a few pictures of how the Toyota Prius dash turned out after having this issue. You can see the overall white haze and also a line where I stopped just to the right of the steering wheel, then jumped to the other side of the car to apply the product to the other side of the dash. I have tried this product by doing the entire dash all at once instead of stopping in the middle like I did on this Prius and I don't get the line but I do get the white haze. Any feedback would be appreciated.
The above photos were taken in direct sun light so the gray plastic appears to be lighter in color than it actually is in the shade, but you can still see the white haze.
I just picked up a new client yesterday who has a Range Rover that is so clean that all I could really offer him was an application of Opti-Coat and a high end interior protectant. I have already made my mind up that I am not using UIGP with this customer's vehicle. After the Range Rover is done he'll be bringing me his high end Mercedes and Jaguars both to get corrected, Opti-Coated and a great interior protectant applied.
I need a suggestion for an out of this world interior protectant that has longevity of durability and stellar looks. Help me please, as I would like to order up the Opti-Coat and interior product this evening.
Thanks in advance for any insight on what the problem could be and for suggesting the next best product.
