Did you ever think you would say "Gtechniq" and "available in the U.S." in the same sentence? Get used to it, because you're going to be saying that a lot as Autogeek now carries Gtechniq Exterior Coatings. That means one of Europe's most talked about lines of surface care products is only a couple clicks and a few business days away from being on your door step. You will no longer will you have to wait for a shipment of your favorite Gtechniq product from across the pond, er, Atlantic Ocean.

Gtechniq is one of Europe's most popular lines of surface care products and for good reason. Gtechniq exterior coatings repel water, dirt, moisture and other environmental elements leaving treated surfaces with a superior shine that lasts longer.

Before you spit out your Dr. Pepper and send a group text message to everyone in your phone telling them this is the best day of your life, let's touch base on one of Gtechniq's most talked about products - C4 Permanent Trim Restorer.

Gtechniq C4 Permanent Trim Restorer is more than just a trim protectant. C4 Permanent Trim Restorer forms a chemical bond with plastic surfaces to restore a like-new, factory appearance. C4 Permanent Trim Restorer doesn't just sit atop the surface, C4 Permanent Trim Restorer becomes one with the surface, providing protection for up to two years.

Dull, faded, discolored plastic trim is all around us. Plastic trim is part of just about every new vehicle and you're not going to see it go away any time soon. With a little bit of knowledge and the right product, you can restore dull, faded, discolored plastic trim to like-new condition.

I planned on doing just that on this 2005 Mazda Tribute with help from Gtechniq C4 Permanent Trim Restorer.

Gtechniq C4 Permanent Trim Restorer needs to be applied to surfaces that are squeaky clean. To get things started, I gave the rear plastic bumper trim a thorough cleaning with Blackfire All-N-One APC and a microfiber towel. Microfiber, although used for pampering delicate painted finishes, also works great for rigorous cleaning on hard plastic surfaces. Black Nitrile Gloves kept my hands clean throughout the entire process.

Gtechniq recommends performing an IPA (isopropyl alcohol) wipe down before applying C4 Permanent Trim Restorer. This ensures all trace residues of any previously used cleaners or protectants are removed so C4 will bond properly.

In addition to being clean, treated surfaces must also be 100% dry before applying C4 Permanent Trim Restorer.

Gtechniq C4 Permanent Trim Restorer includes a couple lint-free application pads for applying the product.

Gtechniq C4 Permanent Trim Restorer is designed to be applied sparingly. To say a little bit goes a long way is an understatement. Once you've applied a thin, even coat, lightly buff any remaining residue with a microfiber towel.

As you can see, Gtechniq C4 Permanent Trim Restorer provides a finish on treated surfaces that looks brand new. It doesn't provide a shiny, artificial looking finish like some other trim protectants. C4 Permanent Trim Restorer dries to the touch and will not run or streak when wet.

Definitely interested in trying the EXO once it's available.

I just watched a Miracle Detail video about the EXO the other day and now here it is....well almost. Very interested, but I would like to see a write up on the EXO. That would be great. On youtube there are two videos of the guys applying EXO.

Ive been wanting to try this stuff, and now I can easily

I have the fabric protection stuff. Still haven't had time to use it though.

I know Chris (IID) will like this. I think he's a Gtechniq fan

Except that it doesn't offer and reduction in marring...lots of new coatings coming though and I'm sure it's just a matter of time before something out does it. ;)

Check the video out with the enzo...go to were there applying it to the wheels and he says it reduces marring.

Well then that would contradict what Gtechniq has been saying over on Detailing World. They recommended C1 being topped with EXO if you wanted the scratch resistance.

Talk about timing!

I was just over on the product page and saw this and thought I had somehow strayed to a different site but nope, this is Autogeek carrying the Gtechniq line.....and then I saw this!! :props:

Autogeek is an evolving company indeed!! :dblthumb2:

It also doesn't seem to have the same chemical resistance that OC and some of the other coatings have.

Very Cool.

Nick@Autogeek, I would be very interested in EXO an testing how it compares to CQ, OG/OC and others. Any idea on pricing for this product yet?

Haha I thought the same thing when I got the email, I thought that it was an email from a competitor.

Oh oh oh I will test T1 tire and trim for you guys :) pick me pick me

I have used many of the G|Tech lineup and all delivered. The glass coating lasted over a year, c2 is a great product and c3 is not shabby also. P1 polish is a great finishing polish on hard clears and can go straight to lsp as it is water based. Don't know if AG has P1 as I forgot what they had and on my phone now.
