:confused:I've searched here and on other forums, but haven't found any information on detailing, and protecting plastic trim that isn't black.

We have a 2001 convertible in Florida that needs some TLC on its grey plastic trim above the back seats. It's oxidized and scuffed, and makes the rest of the car look a bit dingy.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

I have used 303 and a terry cloth with vigorous motion that has cleaned up oxidized plastic very well. The next day I applied UTTG to seal the plastic. Been using UTTG every 2 to 3 months for up keep.

C4 should work fine. Pricey, but it lasts. You need to clean it first with a exterior cleaner(ie. APC or DP exterior cleaner)

Yeah cleaning is a good idea. Some of the haziness could be old wax that shouldn't be there.

Ok will start with APC. Good excuse to pick up some OPC anyway. The Ultima Tire and Trim Guard looks interesting, too, although I just picked up some Griot's long-lasting tire treatment. I've just tried it out on the rubber trim on my daily driver and am encouraged with the initial results.

I know some people might give me grief for this, but Turtle Wax Trim Restorer is freakin awesome. It's clear and will last months. I was astonished how well it worked. Believe it or not guys, not everything TW makes is garbage.

303 makes several products. Which one did you use to clean oxidized plastic?

People should not give you grief for what you use. It is your preference. If it works for you then it is a good product for you. :dblthumb2:

For a more-permanent solution:
gatorbackcoatings...(The 'cladding-solution-tab' is most helpful, IMO)
