I just have a couple questions for everyone regarding my interior. I've got new upholstered black leather in my Lexus GS and am looking for a little guidance. I bought some Griots Garage interior cleaner, so I've been using that on my leather maybe once a week. I coach soccer and sweat really hard once all finished so of course sweat gets into the leather. I'm wondering if a wipe down with the GG interior cleaner should be good enough once a week to keep it clean and fresh from all the sweat. If not what steps would you guys recommend that I take?

My second question regards leather conditioner and using it.. Right now I'm just using Meguiars Leather Conditioner, should I re-apply after I wipe down the leather every time or no?

Thanks for the help in advance everyone and sorry for the noobish questions. :)

You are doing exactly what I would do. If I were going to change, I would just wipe it down with a damp cloth when needed (after soccer) and make a point of using the Meg's every week, especially if it's really hot or really cold.

Then a few times a year, give the leather a good scrubbing with a brush and Griot's.

You know, there are probably better products than Meg's other there, but it really is reputable stuff. It's tested, a lot of people use it, it smells good and you can buy it at the store. It's also reasonably priced. It's certainly head and shoulders above something like Lexol.

Is it as good as the leather stuff from Pinnacle, Zaino, Leatherique or Wolfgang? I don't know. But the point is that it's treating your leather and it's a quality product.

The other thing is that I've watched some of the leather-cleaning videos here on Auto Geek. When they clean the leather, they really clean with a brush or a sponge - something that really agitates the product and the surface. That's how I would use the Griot's.

I believe Meg's also makes a combination cleaner/conditioner.

Thanks for the quick reply and info! It is really hot here in Texas and it doesn't make it any better. I try to keep it as clean as possible just because of the fact that I don't want my car smelling like sweat or anything unpleasant period.

Also I agree on the Meg's stuff. For now it works. I actually have the Meg's Conditioner/Cleaner combo, but I wanted to use the GG interior cleaner to see if it worked a lot better than the Meg's. In the soon to come future I plan to get a lot more GG stuff though or maybe a couple other brands to finish off my interior detailing supplies, because I know like 305 is great for dressing up the dash and vinyl. (At least I think it's 305 that i've read about, could be getting confused with another item)

I do have the interior detail brush also from AG that I use to agitate and really work in the cleaner if needed, so that's covered already. :)
