This car came to me via my local car club. Many thanks to Drew for referring his uncle to me. He'd never had a detail of this caliber and was a little skeptical of the cost and time involved, but as he had just had the Z06 rear fender kit installed and the body shop and just couldn't finish it down he decided it was time for a more serious treatment. Day started off early (before the sun came up) to get to his location as it was a long drive. There was heavy orangepeel on the bumper that he requested be removed and that added some time....it was a long 2 days on this gorgeous corvette. In the end, he was very pleased.

Products used for correction:
-Trizact 1500/3000 grit
-Meguairs interface pad
-Surbuff pads
-Meguiars MF cutting discs
-Lake Country tangerine and black pads
-Meguiars 101
-Meguiars D300
-Menzerna SIP
-Menzerna 106FA
-Griots 6" DA

Car was clean, but the sun was hiding....but the halogens and LEDs would expose the issues later.

The "Turbo S" will be getting a similar treatment in the near future too.

Onto the things that "stumped" the bodyshop and they just couldn't fix.....

I guess they thought sanding on the edges was a good thing? *shakes head*

Other side needed it as well, of course.

Looking proper

Around the flags needed attention as well so light wetsanding was carried out there as well.

After correction was finished on day 2, pics taken in the sun to show the correction. Had to fight for sun shots as the weather wasn't very cooperative in the Bay Area these couple days.

Finished late in the evening, way after the sun went down. After a coat of Meguiars D301, this is the outcome of over 22 hours of work.

Thanks for looking!

Wow, thanks for posting.

I normally don't like red but you made this red vet pop and dripping wet! Amazing work, I would give you my business in a heartbeat

Beautiful as always. What color is that? I'm not real familiar with the C6 colors. Is the paint just as hard as the older Vettes?

Thanks! Its Crystal Red Metallic. Yes, C6 paint is just as hard as C5 paint.

Great write-up!

Thank you for sharing and it just goes to show that you can wetsand even hard clear coat paints and using good technique remove your sanding marks using a DA Polisher.

I'm going to assume you have already or you're going to educate the owner on how to carefully and properly wash the show car finish you created so it will last over time.

Or

You have put him on a "Maintenance Plan" where he'll bring the car to you on a regular basis for washing and waxing to maintain the show car finish you created.

Either way, very nice.

Very nice job! I will be doing my brothers Corvette tomorrow, same color as well. He just had a new hood and the same flares put on. Just waiting for the Z06 rims to come in the mail!

This Corvette looks excellent...really nice work!!

Now...As for this:

If interested...
Here's one way to stop this gravel-gathering for your C6 Corvette customers:

....this DIY was designed by: nakidparts...to stop the dirt and rocks that lodge in the rear fender seams just in front of the rear tires.

(Press the sticky side in first towards the fender)

nice tip^^^^

very nice work on the vette... im doing the same rear conversion to my black c6 and its definitely going to need some serious paint correction... i might just lower it on the stock bolts and instead of coilovers buy my dream paint correction set up.
