I did have some trouble the first time suing this. I put wax on too heavy, however I learned teh hard way. Did a second coat much easier this time. Got a great bead on my truck....

That's odd. not the best beading there, took a pic of my car last night because the beading looks good still even after a year...I guess it's because I apply it with 845 twice.

Hmmm...I thought it was beading pretty well. ...

shouldn't there be a lot of little beads? I only ask because I'm curious. My wax/sealant always results in some big beads but mostly smaller ones.

Nothing wrong with that beading. My car has bad beading but it's because it's filthy.

Looks fine to me. Also there is noting in the pix to gage scale so they could be small beads just a close up shot. Thin, thin, thin is the key with 845. On some light colored cars it's hard to even notice it's been applied. I usually apply a second coat for coverage and longevity.

Looks a bit flat and irregular to me - the Collinite waxes usually have tight, tall, round regular beads, like the below:

Was the car clean when you took this shot?

Perhaps u r not doing a well surface prep? The beading looks poor to me.

The truck was clayed, swirl removed, polished, alcohol prepped and waxed

I think it totally depends on the rain. It rained in DC today and after a heavy downpour the beading on my Charger (with 845 applied) looked like the OP's pic - big, flatter groups of beaded rain. But about 2 hours later we had lighter sprinkles for a while and the beading totally looked like umi000's pics - higher, tight, rounded beads.

well then Maybe the first downpour leaving dirts on the surface thus making poorer beads during the next rain. Washing the car again might brings the beads back.

:iagree:

Heavy downpours don't reveal great beading. Its the lighter rain.
