Airstream Polishing - Nashville TN - B & B Detailing

wow! beautifull work! i have yet to see anyone detail one of those untill now. looks sweet man!!

WWWOOOOWWW!!!!! That turned out fantastic!!!! Great job

The difference before & after is just staggering! I take it you replaced the stripe down the length of it also?

Simply jaw dropping job !!!!!!!!! Awesome work . Turned from coal to a diamond .

On your very first picture there were some huge dented areas in the front of the trailer.

Were you able to polish down to the bottom of the creases?

Is the owner planning on having the dents beaten out?

They really detract from a show trailer appearance. And the way it looks at the end he could show it and do very well.

Now head down to Murfreesboro and support those Blue Raiders when football season starts!

Sweet Baby Jesus! Glad the owner decided to clean this one up before it was too far gone and save another Airstream. :dblthumb2:

Ohh man I was looking forward to this. Sick Job!!!

What a turnaround. I'm sure the owner was super stoked to see the results.

Amazing work obviously. How do you go about pricing a job like this? Hourly? Flat rate?

He had the entire panel replaced - unfortunately the new panel would have taken decades to correct, so he opted out of polishing it :/

Always man lol!

removing the clear was a major pain..... and

What did you end up using to remove the clear?

I remember when your first post about this and I mentioned to use the right paint stripper so as not to stain the aluminum gray from the chemical stripper.

Did this turn out to be the case?

:)

Here's your first post on this project,

VERY EXCITED - Get to turnaround a...... tips and tricks anyone?!?!?

Here's my post,

For the Airstream - make sure none of the panels have a clear lacquer,

Find and join an Airstream discussion forum. There are specific paint removers for removing the lacquer off old Airstream trailers that won't also turn the aluminum gray like an acid wheel cleaner does to aluminum wheels.

It's faster and more effective to chemically remove the lacquer paint, especially around all the intricate areas like the windows, than it is to try to compound it off with a rotary buffer.

So strip the paint off first and then polish the metal.

remove badges, take care around the windows ( a few scary kicks from the rotary )

Any place there's a protruding edge of some type will be a potential place to catch your buffing pad on when using a rotary buffer, other than that it should be pretty straightforward and definitely get a pad cleaner as your pads re going to get really dirty.

Was the above accurate?

I called up a few people around the nation that have done airstreams and picked their brains - 2 mentioned Premium Stripper in the spray can available at HD. I tried Aircraft stripper but we were either putting it on to thin and/or it was just a pain to work with - they spray worked great!

Yep - everything was accurate Mike - We used quite a few wool pads that were washed every night after working - same went for the cyclo sheets we used.... A big mess but worth it :dblthumb2:

This is truly impressive! Ive detailied RVs/trailers for years and have never attempted anything close to this. Maybe if I had a crew of a few guys Id give it a shot, but I work solo. Very well done!
