Can anyone recommend a good canopy (preferably one they've bought and used) for detailing in the sun?

Joe from Superior Shine has a very nice one.

He has pix on MOL, look up do a search on canopy and look for the thread: MOBILE DETAILERS - Check out my new canopy !!

little spendy but if your source of income is detailing, it's a good tool.

I have a 10x10 ez up tent and it works great. I picked it up at Ocean State Job lots for $130. I can set it up and down by myself and it's compact so it fits in my HHR.

I had a $90 one from walmart but after a good year of heavy abuse it finally broke on me. The ez up is built way better and is more heavy duty.

My only complaints would be that I have to worry about the angle of the sun when I set it up and that it doesn't cover the whole car. But I make it work.

Picked up a "Northwest Territory 14'x14' instant shelter" at Kmart yesterday for sixty-five bucks marked down from a hundred and thirty.

One person is suppose to be able to set it up in two minutes. But we'll see about that when I get around to using it sometime in the fall.

I just purchased one today from sears 12x12 using a promo code sears2012 it was $60.00 from 100.00 installed it in about 15 minutes by myself.

Dude thats a steal. I have two of those i use for detailing I put them next to each other so they become 24x12 I bought them a month ago i got them for $85 each. they are a good unit specially for that price right now

I picked up one from Dicks sporting Goods. It is a dome 12' x 12' domed for 127.00 plus free shipping. I got the weights for another 30.00. The brand is called quest. It is light blocking.

Would a 10' x 10' canopy suffice for a car?

I went with a 12x12 then ended up buying another 12x12 because one was just not big enough. I have a G35

I have a 13x13 from academy. $140 with taxes. Cool thing about it it was a air vent type deal on the top to help minimize it from parachuting away.

I'm sure a 10 x 10 or even a 12 x 12 could cover the whole car...but why not just move it when you get to the section that needs work next?

FYI i picked up a 12x12 at Academy for $80 last night. Might pick up another for that kinda price. Would be hard to use both at the same time when mobile though.

About two months ago picked up an 12 x 14 EZ Up Escort Canopy from Kmart for $99. I then bought a pack of canopy leg weights (they look like steel workout plates) from Sports Authority for $30. Combination works out great!

let`s get serious :))
here a solid 10x20 , less than 5 min for 1 person.

That's what I'm talking about. Can you give us details (brand, price)?

You need at least 10x20 if you want to cover a whole car. It might not be large enough for all cars but it will be close
