Finally got my head unit in the mail lol. Let's get this thing rolling.

Will be a while before I can go full tilt though. Good alternators for this car are expensive :pleaseno:

Man takes me back to the ol days when I had the system in my 99 Blazer. Diesel Audio for me. Mine hit the hay when the wife came in the picture, she couldn't take the sound. Enjoy! While you can...

NICE!!! I haven't gotten a chance to watch the videos yet but I used to install car audio and love this stuff. I love how you didn't skimp out and got yourself a beefy alternator. Having the time to remove the passenger seat made wiring much easier I bet. I've removed my rear seats to make room for (4) JL Audio 10's in a 4 chamber sealed fiberglass box (I like the SQ off 10's). I'll post pics here after this weekend.

Are you using those 4 daisy chained batteries?

How noticeable was the Stinger aka Dynamat you added? This past weekend I ripped out my entire interior (carpet and seats) to replace with new carpet and racing seats. I'm considering Dynamating. I've done this before to customer vehicles, but never to my own.

I like how you drilled those 3 holes with the grommets. Clean.

You should post a list of the hardware your running. I'd like to see what you used. Thanks!

Thanks for the compliments!

Those batteries were from my old install. Only using 2 of them for this build so I can compete too haha. The limit for the class I am staying is is 2 batteries.

The sound deadener made quite a difference - less road noise, less rattle, and less roof flex (which had the added benefit of making the system louder too). For the floor, I'd suggest a layer of sound deadener with another layer of Second Skin Luxury Liner or similar.

For what I used:
Sub amp: Crescendo BC3500 with some dual 0 gauge inputs
Subs: 2 Crossfire XS-SPL 12s
Head unit: Kenwood KDC-X696
4 Channel: Crossfire BMF600.4
Front speakers: Crossfire c5x6 (6.5" component set)
Rear Speakers: Crossfire c5-402 some 4" 2 way speakers
Alternator: DC power 270XP
Volt meter: Blue Stinger one. Nothing special
All the 12v wiring is 0 gauge welding cable.
Subwoofer wire is KnuKonceptz Kolossus 8 gauge
Speaker wire is 14ga twisted. Don't remember the brand

Darn haha
What were you running? Those cars get loud pretty easily

While the installation was impressive and I love music and all that bass, did you just blast it for demo purposes or do you normally listen to your music at that level?

By the way Ray, I would love to see the pictures of your ride after you did the customization with racing, carpets, etc

Very cool! I like your wiring. What guage wire is that?

I was too much of a chicken to pull out my seats. So I ran all my wire under the kick plates. I used be into car audio, but I have since fallen out of it for the most part and stopped buying stuff.

My current setup:

Sony XNV-770BT
Blaupunkt VC100 tweets (using its passives) with Mach 5 MLI-65 mids
Memphis "Big Belle" 16-MCH1300
2x 12' Pheonix Gold RSdC subs in a sealed box.

It sounds plenty good and gets quite loud for me. I am sure it would be insane if I ported the subs, but I value trunk space.

Here is mine.

These needed a really thick baffle to fit.
P1010358.jpg

A tight fit. I was happy they fit on the factory mounts.

She is quite long. I had to mount it on a board and then drill about 14 screws to secure it to the 60 side of the 64/40 seats. The backboard is plastic. So I used a bunch of screws to make it it never comes loose.

ALL HAIL THE MEMPHIS BIG BELLE! :dblthumb2:
5 Channels of Hybrid power never looked so good.

It's my current weekend project. As soon as I reach a good checkpoint I'll share some pics. :D

NICE! Competition eh? Have you put a SPL meter in there yet?

Not yet. Same setup in a previous vehicle did a 143.5@28hz. It sounds a bit louder in this car than it did in the other one, so I am guessing somwhere between a 144 and a 145. I'm hoping to get it metered this week though!
