LeMay Auto Museum of America

Went to the recently opened Lemay Auto Museum in Tacoma, WA today. This place is huge. Four levels packed with all types of cars, some very significant. The batteries in my camera and my backup batteries went dead after just a few pics. I forgot to re-charge them-Duh! The '68 Hurst/Olds was one of 220 made with a sunroof, plus it was the only time that NASCAR sponsored a pace car that was not made by a car manufacturer; the '68 Hurst/Olds was made by Hurst Performance and was not an Olds, they just used the body. Saw lots of incredible paint jobs and naturally quite a few swirls, considering the caliber of the cars. Definitely worth seeing if in the area.

I remember reading about this Museum on Octane Magazine some months ago: the couple that founded it had over 3 thousand cars at some point in their life! Some were just wrecks, others well maintained.
It must be a feast for the eyes!

They did have some of the Brassies. They had just about everything including the Flintmobile used in the "Flintsones" movie- HA HA.

You know I was so overwhelmed with all the different vechicles it's hard to remember but I believe it was a '71.

In the '90s he a the Guiness record for over 3,500 cars. The museum can only display a portion of the collection, they will be rotating different cars in and out. And yes a few of the cars are "run of the miill", ordinary varieties, but those are mostly from the '70s. Some of the cars were on loan also. They had a cool motorcycle collection that was on loan.
