2 Gallons of Meg's Final Inspection $0.10

Thanks Setec. I found 4 of the FI and 2 of the Trizact tonight but no luck on the clay so far. Most stores are saying no dice on selling it if they have it. One place said they have a week to get rid of it and then it has to be sent back for credit and its been longer than a week since it went on clearance.

Is advance auto affiliated with anyone else?

All I have around here is autozone and o'reillys.

Not that I'm aware of, I believe they are stand alone.

I'm going to have to swing by my local AAPs this weekend.

As posted earlier, I found 2 gallons of Meg's Final Inspection after lunch today for .10. After dinner I stopped at the one across town and found 2 of the detailing clay for 1.00. Pretty good haul for today.

I found 1 Final inspection for $.05 and some Trizac... but a search of 7 other local stores showed all gone. One manager told me over the phone they were resetting the body display and they set the prices to $.05 and give them to their commercial customers, they are not allowed to sell them under company policy technically.

I may have a buddy of mine check a few over the border and see if he has better luck and will share.

The hunt was fun while it lasted!:props:

Me: Can you give me a price on this gallon of Final Inspection? I heard they are on sale.

AA Associate: (scanning) 5 cents, that can't be right.

Me: I heard they were d/c'ing them

AA Associate: I can't sell it to you for 5 cents. This stuff is like 30 bucks.

Another AA Associate: yeah we can't sell it.

Me: its on the "sales" floor. Can you check the price on the clay.

AA Associate: (same as above). Well sell them for 10 bucks each to you.

Me: hmm (reluctantly). Ok I'll take the gallon of Final Inspection for 10 bucks.

AA Associate: OK.

*** A nickel would have been nice, but they seemed like if I pushed it, they wouldn't sell it to me at all. So, 10 bucks is more than fair. I skipped the clay because I like "fine" clay. To anyone in the Boyertown PA area, they have another gallon left and one clay. But, they pulled them off the floor, so you may have to ask. Persistence payed off, this was the 4th store I checked. Probably used 30 bucks in gas, but it was fun.

I was stupid today and tried 3 more stores, starting with the only one I knew was supposed to have clay. Nothing at any of them, although the first did have an extensive "body" section and had the Trizact 3000 discs, but they weren't marked as even on sale, so I didn't bother. I should have just been satisfied the other day with getting $100 worth of stuff for 21 cents :o

Just checked another store. They had the clay on the discount rack for $15.95. No thanks.

Checked two stores. One the manager said they don't have a clearance rack, they just send back stuff that doesn't sell. The other store didn't have crap.

Ill be visiting someone tomorrow and will pass yet another store. Will keep all posted.

Same at my store. Took them up the the register and they came up .05 cents each.

Found FI at another AA for .05 Cents and they wouldnt sell it to me at that price. Wanted $18 for it. They Said at this AA that they sell nothing for .05 Cents. oh well happy with the clay!:dblthumb2:

Is anyone finding these deals in the south? Seems like everyone that has posted in this thread and found something is up north.

My Advance had 2 gallons of final inspection on the shelves at 28.99. I Ask a guy who I detail for how much they were ringing up as, he told me 28.99. I said are you sure just check....rang up 5 cents, he got this amazed look on his face and told me he couldnt sell them to me. I ask if he was sure and he said yes he has to destroy it.

The manager at my local store in Houston wouldn't sell me the clay at the $.05 price, he said I could pay $15.95 if I wanted them and he wouldn't honor a loophole. No one else remotely close has any more either

Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S III

lol loophole. I get that they probably arent supposed to sell it, but when they still have it out on the shelves and it rings up at that..... its their problem and obviously arent too worried about it.

The Meg's Final Inspection was on a clearance table at my store and had sticker price of 21.95 IIRC. I thought well what have I got to lose by asking for a price check. It rang up.05. Both gals for .11 Don't understand why your store has to destroy it...

This time I tried a new approach. Psychology.

Me: Hey, could you check the price on this clay? I heard they were blowing them out for next to nothing. I'm going to buy it.

AA Associate: (scan). A nickel. I'm not supposed to sell it.

Me: (handing him a dollar). You just sold it.

AA Associate: OK.

Will be passing AA #5 later today. If they have this stuff, going to try the same approach.

The Meg's Final Inspection #34:

Seems (also smells) the same as the consumer line Meg's Quick Detailer:

I own both, and it seems the only difference is the color. The consumer QD is blue, and the FI #34 is red. Are they the same just different colors?

Waiting for the first person to save their nickel receipt and ask AG to price match on the clay or the Final Inspection, then start a thread complaining when they won't do it.

The trick is to buy some other stuff with it, then if/when the clay or Final ring up higher, just say you don't want. Then the .05 price gets "hidden" with the other stuff. Lay low. Scored two more clays, and one more Final...I'm done!

The Final Inspection is body shop safe. The Red consumer Quick Detailer is NOT!
