I was just on another website for detailing products and noticed they had $4.99 shipping on $49 and free shipping on $149. This is from now on they posted. Just wondering on Autogeek $95.00 is free shipping but quite a few times I just want to pick up a couple of things. I really don't mind paying 5 for 50 at all. What do you think about $5.00 for $50.00?

it doesn't matter what we think, I think shipping should be free all day every day, this is AGs website and they make the terms. Its $95 to get free shipping if you use a code, $125 no code on free ship block. There has been numerous threads on AG shipping etc, use the search button.

I did do the search and that is why I asked the question. Did you do a search before you gave me that response?

the $4.99 shipping on orders under $49 is a good idea and won't break the bank if someone wanted to order only one or two items, not to mention being able to get an order on saturday at no additional cost...

What site is that?

Until companies can teleport product to your living room, this shipping discussion will continue to wax and wane (no pun intended). It is one area where online businesses can compete on price to the consumer. I call that deal a good approach to compete effectively. Consumers still need to perform research even in the midst of BOGO and SALE hysteria.

AGO is getting close to the high-end on pricing for many of their products they sell. Other vendors see this and are finding ways to undercut them; quite easily at times. I can see what AGO is doing to compete with those acts in a manner that does not "copy" those approaches. I think both companies are doing their own intelligent things to get responses from consumers and I have no complaints. Time will tell whether or not one is more right than the other.

For what it's worth, I don't know how some companies can always do free shipping. Every time I go to UPS etc, it costs a small fortune.

I tend to get addicted to the free shipping that's offered all the time at sites like amazon, buy.com, etc, you name it. It's nice to shop knowing exactly what your final price is going to be and not having to always check or figure in shipping. I didn't buy from AG for a while, partly because it seems that to get a competitive deal, you HAVE to catch a sale of some type, and I kept missing the sales like I was playing whack-a-mole. :)

The great thing about ordering from AG is they have just about everything. If you have to order from 2 places its a hassle and you will likely have to pay shipping at least once. Also you know if there is a problem it will be made right. It may cost a few dollars more occasionally, but in business, at least in my business(pharmacy), inventory is a top cost. AG has a TON of inventory. They have almost everything.

Another little kick I always like, is my cart is always usually $50+ and I can get a free sample. I always get BFWD, and honestly that 2oz is good for like 2-3 applications depending on car size, so you do get a little extra bang for your buck with that.

Plus, have to remember there's probably lots of people that order from AG, but unlike all of us, will get one 16oz Wolfgang Sealant and that will last them years if they wanted. So they see that shipping charge once. Where we're all constantly buying and trying things, so we actually see the shipping have an affect on us. Yeah I can hear the argument "we buy more frequently so we should get it cheaper than someone who orders once" but honestly, if you use the free ship code, orders over $95 I bet are pretty common amongst many on the forum, so I suspect most hardly ever pay for shipping.

Plus AG customer service does rock, and I go by the Apple philosophy, I'd rather pay extra for stuff if it means I have good product support and help whenever needed, and can make returns or exchanges if an item is broke, bad batch, etc...without hassle. Much like an Apple store "genius" Megahn and Nick and everyone, even Mike Phillips who we all know is like the best ever, is always helping and sharing and such, so thats worth paying some extra shipping to me.

We match prices, promotions, and shipping. :dblthumb2:

Price Match Promise

Hey OP, how about one better! This seems to be a well kept secret around here, but.... if you have 50 dollars in your cart, the code "ship" will give you free shipping.

Happy buying!

While I was looking to purchase detailing supplys I found other sites that offered free shipping. Yet I still purchased from AG.... why? Because this site has everything including these forums and how-to-guides. I am willing to pay the shipping for the amount of info and service provided by this company.

it's not really a 'well kept secret' now is it?

That other site also has quantity discounts which is nice, and ships FedEx standard, so you can get deliveries on Saturdays too. AG does have good customer support, but so does the other site. AG beats them in that they have much, much more inventory that the other site doesn't carry, so the overlap is rather small. Plus as stated, they match pricing and shipping costs.

well considering how I found it on a youtube video ad, it is clearly meant to be out there, I'm just trying to help the OP out.

Wow, I didn't realize how much people don't like telling AG codes! I've gotten several pms also about not spilling the beans lol

My question is, if this forum is designed to help each other out, why would you not tell someone who could use it? It seems almost selfish to not want to share it because then the code may be discontinued.

However, in the future, I will PM it to the guy rather than posting. No sense in getting the code discontinued prematurely.

While it is a nice gesture to want to help out the OP, there is a PM function. Many of us probably wouldn't care if the code was still was available no matter how many people used it, but for some reason when word gets out of a good code, the code eventually dies... (freeship, cd10 (reduced %) so to keep codes alive, use PM

In the spirit of sharing, can you help me find a card in your wallet that says "Mastercard" or "Visa" and share those numbers/codes with me? It would help me a lot, but don't cancel (kill) the card, it would be selfish ;) :poke:

Yup fair enough. As you can see by the last sentence of my quoted post, I beat you to the punch.

Oh and sure, it's a Mastercard and it's 0001 1112 2223 3334 and my 3 digit key is 789.

I also live at P. Sherman 42 Wallaby Way, Sydney Australia in case you needed to know.

But shhhh! don't tell anyone, don't want my credit card being charged now ;)
