SEMA 2012 - who's going?

I just booked the flight and hotel this morning. Halloween on Fremont Street should be 'interesting'.

Randy

Forget Fremont. The MGM Grand is THE place to be.

The "Pimp & Ho" party is not be be missed.

.....so I'm told.

So as a lucky first timer this year, what should I expect? Anyone have any must see booths beside AG to go to? Can you purchase things? (i'm a big car audio fan, i'd love to get the latest tech)Or is just demos? Feed back please

A lot of HOT models. Yokohama and Pirelli usually have the hottest chicks. If you get a chance hit The Cheatah Club. Place is wild!!! lol I love Vegas.

SEMA for a first timer will be sensory overload. The sights, sounds, and even smells will be overwhelming. Just take it all in, take your time and have some good shoes as you will be on your feet all day.

You normally can't purchase things, but some places will sell items after 3pm on Friday.

Without a doubt, if you're doing any type of business, attend one of the FREE sessions! Get there early to be sure you have a seat! North hall upper level.

SEMA Show Education Days | SEMA Show

GET A MAP!
They will usually have an interactive version finalized on the sema site a few days before the show. If you find a stand at one of the main entrances with maps, grab one!

New Product Showcase will be packed on day 1
This is a great place to view after day 2 or 3 in the morning.

You'll see a flock of followers that go to each celebrity appearance booth. I've never been a fan of standing in line just to get a poster, but thats just me. Was actually nicer to see a celeb just wondering around the show and viewing the booths.

you'll see a a few vendors that autogeek carries, but they will be displaying products autogeek doesnt carry.

SEMA is a promotion event, so three different vendors will have a similar product and all claim theirs is the best. Last year I found 3 different variates of leather conditioning products I've never seen before... tired them... and still prefer to reach for the Pinnacle or Leatherique.

BAG IT!
A backpack is excellent to have with you! Split things up into what you're interested in, vs. freebie toss-out. Many booths will be giving out plastic bags with goodies, large enough to fill and make your arm hurt at the end of the day.
Keep the business cards, sample products and catalogs you know you want to use in the backpack. The rest can go into the plastic bag.

SNAP SNAP SNAP
Photos are a HUGE help! If anything, photo the product, the business card and the display booth for ones that you're interested in! Even if you loose the card, you will have a photo to fall back on! Camera storage in the backpack helps too!

and HAVE FUN!!!

I've never been there on Friday afternoon...but I have heard you can buy a lot of stuff cheap. They would rather sell it cheap than pack it all up.

We picked up a few things, but they weren't smoking deals by any means. There are too many people looking for 'freebies' or crazy lowball offers that some vendors were just getting upset and packing it up. Technically, there is to be no selling at all.
