what kind of brush do you recommend to clean that "ring of dirt" just on the corner of the sidewall and treads? Just for the tire.

it needs to be hardware store variety, don't have time to wait for an order today.

my contoured wheel brush works fine, even on low profile tires.

This should do it...

Buy Carrand Tire and Bumper Brush CRD92036 at Advance Auto Parts

advance is one of our local places, but i'm pretty sure they're everywhere.

I've also used a multi purpose scrub brush from home depot on tires. Its in the cleaning section. Just dont get anything that seems too hard. For just tires you dont really need anything too specific. I have the Mothers wheel and tire brushes, and the tire brush seems to be just a hair softer than the multi purpose brush I had from depot.

I bought a brush and used honeydew foam car wash and gave the edges a good brushing but after it dries it still look dirt color and dusty, even after applying wolfgang ETS. How can I get it too look uniform black again without using a very wetlook tire dressing?

I use a STIFF scrubbing brush (made for cleaning BBQ grills, etc) & Megs Super Degreaser at 4:1 for dirty tyres or 10:1 for maintenance.
They're tyres, they're not going to get scratched & I find some actually need quite a hard scrubbing, even with a very stiff brush, to get that new look again...

PoorOwner, you need Megs SD or something like that.
Car shampoos generally won't touch the brown stains on tyres...

OK so I just get the super degreaser and put in a spray bottle 4:1 concentration?
I don't damage the wheel's finish right?

Correct.
Spray the tyre & scrub, the solution will foam up as you scrub & with dirty tyres the foam will be brown.
Rinse & repeat until foam is white. I use a pressure-washer which helps but you should still get good results if you don't use one.
The initial cleaning may take 2-3 applications but after that once will normally do it & you may be able to drop back to 10:1, obviously depending upon your tyres, how often you clean them, etc...
I clean my tyres when I clean my wheels, every time I wash my car.

It is a good idea to have the face of the wheel wet before cleaning the tyres.
What sort of finish is on your wheels?
Clearcoated paint, uncoated polished alloy, etc?
I can honestly say I've never had an issue (clearcoated painted wheels) but it would depend on the finish of wheels.
Might be hesitant on raw, polished alloy, but this is generally only found on high-end race wheels, etc.
Hopefully someone with more experience of using SD on different wheel types can chime in.
I know BobbyG is another SD user & is a very switched on guy...

Meguiar's Super Degreaser is a great product for cleaning tires and it won't harm the finish on your factory or aftermarket wheels. For general work I dilute mine 4:1 and it works great....Taylor the dilution to suit your needs but I find 2:1 to 4:1 is all I ever need...:props:
