Gave the Falcon a caning today! :D

This thing is going to get me in trouble one day, it's just so effortlessly fast.

I know I've said this before but it's amazing how much this Falcon looks like a Fusion and further more why WE couldn't have gotten it over the FWD platform

I still think Lincoln should've gotten this platform and made a "Hotrod Lincoln" to truely compete with the Germans/Japanese/Koreans. Yeah, yeah SUV's...halo car, keep the torch lit

Ford Australia had a lot of autonomy being on the other side of the world but when it came to styling, Detroit often dictated the styling should follow the corporate direction. Ford Australia had their own design studio and so these cars were fully designed and engineered here. In fact, despite the factories now closed, Ford Australia continue to design and engineer a range of cars for the Asia Pacific region as well as the global Ranger platform. So it's no coincidence the Falcon looked similar to other Ford sedans.

2015 Taurus -

Fusion / Mondeo -

2015 Falcon -

I have had people on other forums giving me shite about how it just looks like a Taurus. Well, that was the point!

As for Lincoln, Ford have done that brand on the cheap for years. I love what they have done with the interiors and their current design language is nice, but I guess Ford are happy with how they are positioning the brand rather than chasing BMW like Cadillac have done. The Continental should have been rear wheel drive in my opinion.

The Qashqai is sitting out in the morning sun, and I've got a new phone, so I have to test the camera out.View attachment 74552

Looks great, try the "auto" setting after the pic because IMO it really shows what our cars truely look like

That was in the auto setting, I haven't had enough time to play with the manual exposures yet. It did make it look more "chromy" though.

Looks great in the pic Dave and that color is so crazy because you've posted other pics and it's straight up purple

I do love me some chrome, tastefully done though. I like chrome bumpers, chrome on wheels, but not chrome wheels. The pics below are my second car, this is from around 1990. It's a 1979 Holden Commodore SL, powered by a 3.3 litre straight 6. It had standard steel wheels when I was looking to buy it, I told the dealer I wanted fancy wheels, so he took me to his wrecking yard, always a good sign, and said, take your pick. If you buy the car, you can select any wheels you want. So I chose these, chromed steel rims with machined steel plate welded in the centre, and painted white. And it had chrome bumpers as well. I was always at those wheels with the WD40 and fine grade steel wool.

Thanks, one of the first things I saved up for after buying it was suspension upgrades. Lowered it 2 inches on Lovell springs and Monroe shocks. Next up was some Genie headers and a 2.5 inch exhaust. I still have the free Genie keyring they gave me.

Oh yeah, I forgot about that. It's a red nose. They have this thing called Red Nose day, it's a charity thing, you could buy a nose to wear, or a pen, and even one for the car. It was to raise money for research into SIDS, sudden infant death syndrome, they used to be on everything. They had to change them every year so people didn't cheat and use last year's noses.

My son asked that I pick him up from elementary school in the Vette, so it got to stretch its legs today.
