The Post a Picture of Your Ride as it Sits Thread

A friend showed me his new ride, Nissan Juke in Fuji Sunset Red, he traded in his FJ Cruiser. I think he made the right choice on colour. They also traded in his wife's Nissan Patrol on a new Qashqai E-power. So they've gone from a 4 litre V6 and a 5.6 litre V8 to a 1litre turbo and a 1.5 litre turbo "sort of hybrid", a lot less power, but using barely a third the fuel they were before.

Juke's have like 0 trunk space. I would have the seats folded down all the time.

Yeah, a bit of a change for him, he traded from an FJ Cruiser. Which aren't known for having a huge amount of space, I've removed the back seat bases in mine so the backs fold more flat. I basically run it as a 2 seater, I'm either carrying stuff, or my dogs, I even put rubber matting on top of the plastic to stop them sliding around.

It's a warm spring day, and the FJ is parked in the sun, I thought I'd do an experiment with my infrared thermometer. Conclusion : I really love having the white roof on the FJ.

I went and checked this out today, not thinking of changing just yet, but I've seen so many reviews of this thing I thought I'd at least have a sit in one. GWM Tank 300 Lux. It's a 2.0 turbo petrol, 217hp with 280 lbft, less power than the FJ but the same torque. The interior is nice, electric seats, cooled and heated in the top spec, cool looking vents, diff locks, good driving position, all the latest safety tech. There is a hybrid version that puts out 345hp. All models have a 7 year unlimited km warranty. This colour is called Dusk Orange.

We only get a few Chinese made vehicles here, "Buicks" actually and haven't heard good or bad about them but that brand is marketed as Chinese, gotta start somewhere I guess. The profile reminds me of a Jeep SUV of some kind

They've been coming here for a few years, they're seen as cheap and nasty, but that's where Hyundai and Kia were a few years ago, and the Japanese brands a few years before that. They don't appear to have worked out the metal treatment process yet, a few that have been in accidents have displayed rust in places that shouldn't rust in a 1 or 2 year old vehicle. But they are getting better. The only thing concerning about this Tank 300 from the reviews was the braking, more accurately the suspension under heavy braking, it almost lifted its rear wheels off the ground, but that can be fixed easily, it also needs a bigger wheel and tyre combo, personal opinion.

True statements about the Korean and Japanese cars for sure and yes, the tire and wheel combo is easily fixed and one that most of us actually embrace doing

My ride (in my dreams) just coming out of The Bays Car Supply Warehouse this afternoon️Add the perf pack rims and you'd have one of the greatest cars on the planet Earth.

I haven't been in a Buick showroom for a while, IIRC they had two models from Europe (that crazy Opel wagon and convertible they imported for a year or 2), one from Mexico, one from South Korea, and one from China. The Buicks that come from China are made in GM plants; China surpassed the US as the largest market for Buicks a long time ago.

I remember the original Accords where the TOP of the fenders rusted out when they were only a few years old, and I'm not sure the Koreans have figured out the rust yet...I guess you'll tell us in a few years, Klasse.

Hyundai owns their own steel company but I'm keeping mine as clean as I can regardless
