I'm a "hobbyist" but these are the first 2 cars Ive actually been paid to do. I undercharged by a lot I think (i KNOW), but I just wanted to cover the price of some new product for detailing etc.

The Porsche I only charged $100 and he paid $200 as a "tip" because he was so happy with it.

The Tbird i didn't give a price because hes a family friend of my new wife. But he paid 200 as well on his own.

Pics.

SO ... what do you think?

The owner of the Porsche dropped off his wifes 2013 GMC Terrain when they picked up the Pcar. And the owner of the Tbird is dropping off his 2013 GT500 Thursday night.

Word of my "bargain" (idiotic) pricing is spreading throughout my network of friends and they're banging down the door to get in here. Time to start raising prices, my truck is sad being outside in the elements.

Nice job! I can see why he tipped!

I have a 996 I have to do for a fellow forum member this week. Love working on P cars!

*edit....holy cow! who detailed that t-bird last, Stevie Wonder?

Great job Moose ! That's the same plan I have to get new detailing products. Just thought of that a week ago. I hope you get more paid jobs by word of mouth.
Keep up the good work : )

Yeah it was really nice working on it. It has CRAZY hood chips etc but the softish clear made swirl removal a breeze. Meguiars 205 and a white pad on a porter cable took all but the real deep stuff.

And yeah i was SHOCKED at the condition of the Tbird. I took Meguiars Ultimate and a yellow pad to it, then finished with some 205 on a white, then topped with Chem Guys Butter Wet (that he brought over himself) which was AWESOME. I'll be using more in the future.

Thanks. My wife thinks I'm insane for all the time I'm putting into them vs what I'm charging but its really not that bad. I feel like doing cool and unique cars on the cheap, and using the pictures as promo material is a bargain for both of us.

Both cars look amazing! Did you take the same steps on the Porsche that you did with the the Thunderbird?

Which products did you use? I have a black solstice scheduled soon and I like to see what other detailers are using on black cars.

Whoa. Cars look great! The T-Bird especially has gloss factor off the charts!

You're now officially Semi-Pro!

Thanks for the kind words all.

Steps for each were.
Porsche
Meguiars 205 with White pad
Klasse aio with green pad
Poorboys ex-p by hand on red flat pad (didn't like the red pad for it. Blue ccs seems better
Pinnacle liquid souveran on blue pad

Tbird
Meguiars ultimate compound w yellow pad
Meguiars 205 with white pad
Chem guys butter wet wax by hand with micro applicators

The chem guys butter is very thick and goes a pretty long way. I did the 3 stripes on the pad and was able to get half the hood done, then I would just apply 1 stripe and do as far as it would take me which was pretty far lol. The customer brought this in hself and I'm glad he did, I've been wanting to try chem guys products and so far I'm really happy with them. It made the black deep as hell.
