I got a 5" astro pneumatic plate on the way hopefully it's better than the one it came with. It was only 9.99 free shipping so figured why not. Better than what it has. And I got some 5.5 lc flat pads as well on the way. Can't wait to use the new setup and get some work done

Btw there is a 25% off coupon that I use. That's somewhere I gotta dig it up. But I got multiple items and just flirted with the cashier and she let me use the coupon on each item so that was cool. Just have to ask them nicely and they will do it for you as well

Just picked one up. I had the coupon for $54.99. I was able to use both coupons, the other being 25% off. The warranty was 19.99 for 1 year and 39.99 for 2 years. Passed on it.

Try and call HF direct, that is where I bought mine. Give them the
item #

Thank you, I just called to HF and due to the bad shopping experience in the store the CS rep gave me 2 years for $5.99 !!

The astro pneumatic is a fine pad. I bought a 2nd one for a backup. and use it with the B and S pads

Once you use it let us know how it is. I just looked at the HF polisher myself. They had a lot on the shelf, so I passed on it.

I also saw the circular today. Are you able to change the backing plates in the polisher?

Awesome to hear. I think I may buy this just to see how it holds up in relation to other da's out there. Does it take the same backing plates as the PC I would assume?

I am not sure... I bought a 5" Uber vented plate for it.

Yes.

Not to be rude but have you read this whole topic? This thing will give you more torque than a PC and ill bet you is made in the same factory. the pics show it compared to the HD 3D DA. Its the same. PC now has their stuff made outside the US, sooooo its up to you. I love mine.

Ok i read this thread and the thread at autopia. The problem with me is that once i manage to get something apart there is usually some epic battle to get it back together. is there a way to just put some grease in the hole where u put the allen wrench at? I am purchasing one tomorrow and would like to do this mod but im leary of the project as well. If there was a video of how to take it apart i know it would greatly help me out.... im more of a visual leaner.

@Lucky417- It was cake getting the backing plate off. No grease, magic dust or open-says me needed. Just use the wrench it comes with.

@beamerstrumpet - seems to work well. After using it and going to my Flex for the polishing portion of my detail, I noticed a big difference in temp. I don't have one of these on the Flex.

How well does this plate keep the heat down? Im interested to hear.

This is next on my list of things to get as I've read numerous posts about how well vented backing plates work at keeping the heat down.

If anyone has a54.99 coupon that they can send by e-mail, I tried to buy with out it and it did not work,,,Thanks

Or send me the code under the bar code that will work, the local HF said that would work

Judy paid 59 - 25% for my second one. Still wants 35 for the warranty.

I meant did you read THIS post? If you go to page 46 I have detailed pictures and Better instructions than the other thread. You don't need the allen wrench tool.
