Why do people use 5.5" pads?

"Why do people use 5.5" pads?" Simply because they are more effective with a DA polisher than larger pads--I can't think of one pro or semi-pro detailer that would dispute this.

I keep seeing people say this, but then why do so many of the "kits" come prepackaged with 6.5" pads? oke:
