Most regretted detailing product purchase

Optimum Opti-Bond Tire Gel.

I know a lot of you love this stuff, but I hate it. Hard to apply evenly, and doesn't look like I put anything on the tire.

Anyone want a bottle of it?

Is this based upon one brand tire or all? I had some problems getting even coverage on one specific tire but not other styles of same brand.

I've tried it on my F-150 with Goodyears tires and my MINI with Dunlops.
It hasn't produced a "shine" at all. It dries matte.

It is a matte looking dressing so that may be it.

I'll PayPal for shipping to Canada. Haha.

Over the past year, this is what I've come up with.

Pinnacle Black Label Diamond Paint Coating
Pinnacle Black Label Wheel Coating

Just curious as to why you regretted these. I've had 8 months on the wife's Murano so far and the coatings are performing well. What did you regret about them?

Mostly this.

I also tried the wheel coating on brand new wheels that were cleaned and polished with PBL SCP. The wheel wells were all coated with PBL and the spokes with Gtechniq C5. The C5 lasted; the PBL did not.

Okay thanks. So far mine have lasted, but I will be interested to read your thread. I used to use Poor Boy's and that didn't last for me, but so far this seems to be holding up.

Thanks again for taking the time to reply.

Tuf Shine for tires-( too quirky, it's a hit or miss...)

C4 trim restore-- ( after it fades, looks horrible)

Diamondite Paint protection ( yea they actually made some, smelled like kerosene in a bottle, had to chisel it off if dried)

M26-- ( no enhancement of looks for me)

DoDo Juice Orange Crush- ( seemed to like it at first, then it was just too gritty compared to other DoDo's which I love.)

Collinite 845-- ( used to think this was "the"wax, very solvent heavy, tends to leave water spots IME)

CG Jetseal 109
-- ( nice look, but sealants at this price should last 3-4 times longer than Jetseal flies)

Meguiar's Smooth Surface Clay Kit--( clay crumbles like day old bread)

One of the first products I bought from AG was the Pinnacle Concours Wheel & Tire Kit. I love the Daytona brush, but the Pinnacle wheel cleaner and tire dressing are nothing special, IMO.

Well, the thread appears to be closed. Hopefully it wasn't due to my postings, but I reported what I saw.

As I said in the thread, it could have been entirely my method in application, but I have a considerable dilemma now when it comes to what to do with the rest of my PBL. I do want to give it another test, though.

It wouldn't let me post earlier but now it is. Weird.

Sent from my HTC6435LVW using AG Online

I'm going to have to second Kevin I still have a brand new PBL wheel coating that is unused but if it is anything like the glass coating it will end up in the garbage can..

recently bought aquapel, there glass cleaner is nice but the window coating is horrible, I coated my wife's brand new car in hopes she wouldn't use her windshield wipers to preserve the glass and well we were using them with the first rain, I should of just used rainx

If it fits your bill, give Optimum Opti-glass a try. It works great and really last the duration of one year. Actually its been 14 months on my DD and still beading

Over the past year, this is what I've come up with.

Griot's Garage rubber cleaner
Griot's Garage #4 polish
Griot's Garage #3 polish
Griot's Garage paint glaze
Griot's Garage Vinyl & Rubber Dressing

Pinnacle Black Label Diamond Paint Coating
Pinnacle Black Label Wheel Coating

Gtechniq C4

CarPro Fog Fight

DP Waterless Wash

Lexol 3-in-1 leather cleaner

Why the pbl coatings?

Amazing roll off leaves a protective wax coating behind. Thats likely what prevented the tuf shine from bonding properly.

So are u suggesting that I try it again using only the Megs APC? I'm not willing to buy the Tuff shine tire cleaner - already wasted to much time, money and effort on their product.
