Most regretted detailing product purchase

How come you didn't like the Megs Ultimate Polish? I just used it after using UC, I'm not sure it made much of a difference though so was just curious.

It dried really quickly and was a horrible pain to get off once it did. I tried doing tiny sections and immediately wiping it off, but it was still drying up immediately. I really like the M205 though.

Hmmmmmm

Should have been the opposite

UP can be worked a very long time, longer than 205
Because 205 is SMAT, you shouldn't be doing more than 4-5 passes at most, to avoid marring

Too much polish and too high machine speed could be the culprits

UP is more "oily" than 205 so that can add to the wipe off time marginally. I have found that I save time during the wipe-off process, flipping the towel more frequently actually speeds up the process

Thanks for the reply, I had no issues with it at all, maybe you got a bad bottle?

This is what I found as well.

Mothers 3 step polishing system. Pinnacle pad cleaner.. XMT 360

It definitely wasn't a speed issue. The first couple times I tried it, I was working by hand. I tried it will a DA but I kept the speed low.

I guess it could have been a bad bottle. However, I have talked to others who have experienced the same issues.

I had that happen to me the first time I used it. Now, It's my favorite. I wish I lived near ya because I'd be happy to take it off your hands.

Lots of hate for Lexol. Been using that for decades. Usually those that hate it don't understand the idea of "less is more" heh.

Plus, it's more for uncoated leather rather than modern coated auto leather, so it's even more important to follow the "less is more" mantra as the only thing on coated leather that needs conditioning is the stitching.

This is an old thread but I am going to add to the growing list.

3D Trim Care Protectant - Only lasted 2 weeks and was gone after the first wash. Did not live up to the claim of "up to 3 months"

3D Eraser - I have not had this work one time out of the 5 times I have used it.

3D Liquid Leather - I wasn't going to list this one but it doesn't last that long. After 2 weeks it's essentially gone on leather and on the dash. I gave it a chance and wasn't blown away by it.

What's Eraser supposed to do anyways?

Water spot remover. It is supposed to work chemically as it contains no abrasives. I used it on my brothers car that had water spots that were a day old and this didn't even touch them. I was looking for something non-abrasive as his car is coated.

Those blue bristled interior detailing brushes. Complete junk. Bristles fell out left and right on the first use. Took longer cleaning up the mess from the bristles than it took to clean the stuff it was meant to.

Chemical Guys Diablo Wheel Gel...smells great (bubble gum)....but cleans no better than Megs APC at 10:1

Agreed! I'm using 3D and Meg's APC on almost everything now diluted specific for the areas. More cost effective, less crap in my cabinet, and actually better results!

Carpro anything (so far). Sorry CP fanboys and shills. I hated reload. Still do. I was told reflect was the best thing since sliced bread. It didn't come close. CQUK was a pita and I ended up polishing it off. To date I've never been able to get the results I want on the first, second, or even third attempt. That's been my experience and some will say I'm nuts. I'm cool with that. I only use products that work every time on every paint in any environment ....the first time. Yes there are such products and that's all I have on my shelf.

WHat product do that?

The new Flex FE 7, or whatever it's called. POS didn't even make it through a mid 2000s Honda hood that was pulled from a junkyard. Guy replaced his damaged hood with this one, severely oxidized. Did fine on the 1st half of the hood. Started the 2nd 1/2 & upon starting the machine, black specks flew out of the housing. So I stop, wipe up the mess, & try again. Speed 5, Menzerna SG400 & LC Thin Pro pads. Happened again. Machine was warm, so I let it cool some. Don't really have time for that, but shame on me, I left my 3401 at home. I was just doing a hood, for crying out loud. Once it cooled some, I completed 2 more section passes without incident. Once I got up by the cowl, the machine started walking, hard. Totally flat, I had to physically hold it from walking. Shut it off, changed pads & went back at it. Same results. F this pos, I went home & grabbed the 3401 to finish what light weight couldn't handle.

I can see that.

You feel the same way about Iron X, Tar X and/or Tri X? I have come to like HydroFoam and HydrO2, but never was interested in their polishes and I hated Reload as well...
