Hey guys!

Im opening up a new detailing location here in monroe, mi. We have had an amazing opportunity to expand and build a brand new retail location and are super excited to finally be able to work out of an area that looks the part. We have been open since 2008 and now are in a place where we can offer alot more than just detailing. I am looking at offering a New Vehicle Protection Package since all the dealerships charge an a$$ ton of money and have no clue what their doing. So my question is, what companies offer a package that can be marketed or what have you used in the past that you have really liked? If there are no companies that you know of that you would recommend, what products would you offer to do a "warrantied" Paint and Interior Protection for a new vehicle? Any help would be awesome! Thanks

Many of the car care "Protection Packages" available from the local auto dealer use sub-standard products. Couple that with poorly trained personnel and you end up with inferior results.

My Honda came with this "Protection Package" already included with the price of the car. The website was vague on the type of product used for exterior protection. My best guess is some sort of AIO. Same with the interior. Probably Scotch Gard.

What did I do when I got my car home from the dealership? I polished and applied my LSP of choice.

My dealership has sent me notices that it's time for service. I've ignored them completely. I do my own detailing with products I know and trust.

My suggestion is to purchase the many quality products sold by AG. You can't go wrong with any of the manufacturers. And properly trained personnel is even more of a must. Even top quality products, when handled poorly, turn a simple detailing session into a full-blown vehicle repaint. Not the most ideal situation for yourself or your customers.

Hope this helps.

Protection packages can run from mild to wild and everything in between.

Wax is a protectant and so is a sealant. These packages can vary in price depending on the product and the amount of work and quality of products...

If I were to offer a "protection package" I would more then likely lean toward the more durable products like Optimum Opti-Coat or CQuartz to name a couple....

I believe what im going to do (after searching and being extremely disappointed with the quality of product that these companies offer) I basically create my own. With the amount of products that are available, I believe that it will be the only way to really offer my customer what they deserve. The opti-coat was my first interest when I even started thinking about this option.

But for price point purposes, what kind/brand of sealant would yu recommend to not only be the most durable but also most cost effective. If I offer the opti-coat, this would obviously be in a different price point. Thanks!

I agree with BobbyG. Mix and match products of your own choice and offer them as separates or a package deal to your customers. Collinite 845 sounds great. DP's Poli-Coat Sealant has some great reviews as well, is affordable and lasts as long, if not longer than, 845.

IMO, Opti-Coat or CQuartz can be offered as a 'Premium' package. Customers will like the fact that these are easy to maintain.

Good luck to you and your business!
