Here I have a project I've been working on for about 2 or three months. The way it arrived to me was horrible. The drivers side headlight was so full of water, or had sat full of water, for so long it has turned brown. The other was starting to form condensation in it. The interior was bad as well. It was pretty much missing the door panel. I have countless hours in this from the complete detail, to replacing the little odds and end things. It has been repainted and had a fair amount of orange peel. I am not comfortable, nor do I have the time to devote to wetsanding. So I did what I could with some Megs Compound. I'll let the pictures do the talking...
Before:

I don't have pictures of the outside right when I got it, but here is before the exterior detail. I already put the new headlights on it. And painted the mudflaps.

The car had been repainted. This is the result of a bad tape job:

AFTERS:

That spot on the lower lip is just the light reflecting weird.

NEW/USED Door panel:

Only 156k miles on a '93

Thanks for viewing! I enjoyed cleaning it up and making it look somewhat new!

Ok thats amazing you brought it back from the dead. What was your solution for the torn leather seats? Wet sanding the panels isn't that difficult if it's your car start slow doing one panel at a time over a month or so. I would recommend measuring the paint thickness.

Was woundering if this was a flood victim?

Looks great but just curious why did you buy it like that in the first place? Just wondering? Excellent job by the way. Hard work pays off no doubt.

I had the back seats recovered. A local upholstery shop that I have done business with in the past gave me a great deal. And they match perfectly. No it wasn't a flood victim. It was just a neglected car that needed some love. It was sad to see that a once $47k car looked like this.

I like to tackle projects. I have been wanting one of these for a while to fix up just to say I did it, and I did it. :)

Nice car. I considered one of those when I was car shopping. All I could find were the 300's though so I passed.

So was this done for a client or is this your own project car?

:)

Tell me about it then add the luxury tax back in the day and you have a $50K+ two seater. I think you'll like it. They seem to run forever, I'm begining to look for another car and I might look bak into one of these.

I love those cars!! I hate seeing them neglected like that. Great job on the salvage.

love those 400's, nice cars indeed. Nice work on the rehab. I need to source a local shop that does quality work like that.

Great job on bringing it back from the dead!

When these cars first came out I thought they were the hottest thing ever!

Nice restoration!

Wow you saved that car!

I love the SC300 and SC400's myself; always wanted one.

Sorry to revive an old thread of mine. Remember what this thing looked like... well, I met up with the guy I sold it to and here's what he has done to it:

Very clean, lowered with rims and tint all around. A lot different from when it left me!

They really are a car that's aged well... 20 years old and running strong.
