My dad bought this 1998 Camry earlier this week to use as a daily driver for work. The paint was in pretty rough shape. The car had been repainted but they did a horrible job lots of orange peel and sanding marks. The goal here was just to clean up the paint by getting rid of the contaminants, the surface felt like sand paper and bring back some gloss. I was not really worrying about correction nor being perfect since my dad is a painter and the car will probably be covered in over spray in couple of weeks. The hardest part was the claying process, I decided to spray the paint with trix to speed up the process

  1. Wash- Foamed with Maxi Suds and Dawn with foam cannon
  2. Clayed
  3. Car sprayed with Car Pro Trix
  4. 1 step Polish with Megs M205 on Orange Buff n Shine
  5. LSP- Blackfire Wet Diamond
  6. Tires-CG Extreme Shine

Total Time 4.5hrs

Thanks for Looking.

Wow! The paint was in pretty tough shape but considering the car's nearly 15 years old I would suspect some aging and fading. The 50/50 shots really tell the tale and the polished area looks wet...

I have to say that your Dad is in for quite a surprise! :props:

I would have to say, you did a 180 on it. I thought I was the only one to use dawn on negleted paint. A lot of people thro out the years gave me a lot of greif over dawn, but it realy does do the job. the other thing I noticed you used TRIX, I have never used that. thanks

Maybe a full car job with ultimate compound would fix the color problem

you also might want to seafoam the car as you could probably get alot better mpg that way
