Hi all,

I have an eleven month old car and have been concentrating on the exterior but just thought that it may be a good idea to protect the interior as well. I probably should have done something earlier to hopefully avoid this infamous scuff marks from shoes on some of the interior pieces.

What do you all like for cleaning and then sealing the plastic parts ( dashboard, etc.).

Thanks for any advice.

Just my opinion of course but I do not think you can go wrong with Ultima Interior Guard Plus. I use it in all of my cars and am extremely impressed!

Ultima Interior Guard Plus 4 oz., interior protectant, rubber & vinyl protectant, rubber dressing

Looks interesting. I assume that everything has to be squeaky clean before applying this. Thoughts on best way to clean the plastics.

By the way, the vehicle is a 2011 Honda CRV with leather interior. The manual indicated to just clean the leather with something like Woolite. Evidently the leather is sealed, although I'm not sure about the steering wheel and shift lever.

Thanks again.

I used Wolfgang Cockpit Trim Sealant and love it! Very easy to use and seems to be holding up very well.

I haven't used the Ultima Interior Guard Plus but from what I have read the Wolfgang gives a slightly darker, satin sheen to surfaces (which I have noticed and prefer), while the Ultima gives a more matte finish to surfaces. It's all about personal preferences between what kind of look you like. Can't go wrong with either!

what about for protecting floorboard carpet? any recommendations for that?

To clean the interior before UIGP:
Ultima Interior Shampoo Gel, interior cleaner, upholstery cleaner
For leather, you can use UIGP also but I think the best is:
Leatherique 32oz leather cleaner conditioner kit contains Leatherique leather care & restoration products.

look at C quartz fabric and leather coat, 303 high tech fabric guard, or scothguard.

Weathertech digital fit really is the best

these are actually fantastic. i have them in both of my vehicles ad they really are great. worth the money. husly also makes a version which ive read are just as good, but a little less expensive.

I agree with the Wolfgang Cockpit Trim Sealant as well. 303 Aerospace Protectant has been my go to product for interiors for over ten years but I think I'll be using the Cockpit Trim Sealant more often than 303 now. A little bit goes a long way and an 8 oz. bottle should last a long time.

Agree that Husky makes some good floormats and less expensive too, wish they made them for more vehicles.
