So after seeing some of those Excel charts recently of products, price, size, etc., I decided to use Excel to take a little inventory of my stuff. All of this is just going off of pictures I have on my computer, and even then everything still isn't accounted for yet.

It may take a little time to complete, but I keep nearly all my supplies packed away in boxes all the time. So, this will enable me to see what I have or don't have without digging out the boxes.

Haha, I'm taking a little break Chet. Still have another week before finals too. I actually made the majority of this last month.

Nice! I plan to do this for the new year. I have been horrible at keeping track of inventory and typically just re-order when low or on sale. My ultimate goal is to be able to track a cost per detail and how much product (on avg) is used on each detail.

Great idea!!!!
Yours is broken down quite well, easy to inventory.

(I keep all the packing slips in a container with the supplies)

I was keeping a list of what I had in Word, but I like this format better. Much more organized.

nice... I am afraid to make a excel sheet of what I have.

What are you studying for chris?

Thanks guys.:xyxthumbs:

Bobby, I'm sure you would have the quite the spreadsheet assembled given the size of your collection.

Yeah..I think I'd need 3-4 monitors to see that spreadsheet.

Kinda OT...

Back in 93 or so when 'we' got our first computer, I thought it would be 'fun' (and to learn a bit about spreadsheets) to do an inventory of all my tools etc in the garage.

It took several weeks of entering date, tweaking this and that, in the end a pretty good 'true' inventory.

Now the clincher, a low life ( that is a nice term) thought it would be a good idea to help himself of some of Bill's tools.

Cut to the chase, local police caught up with him. Of course he said (in essence) to the LEOs, prove the stuff isn't mine. WRONG...here's is an inventory with serial numbers and description of EVERYTHING!

Due to the fact the total value was in excess of $1000, can you say FELONY! He did time, but don't know how much time or what happened after I got my 'stuff' back.

End of story.

Bill
