Beach's Very First Write-up! 2002 Ford Ranger XLT 4x4

Great work! You brought that truck back from the dead
Thank you David!
Wow!! Great job! Nothing better than a clean ranger! I love shining mine up:D
And it sucks that he used the duster on it after all that hard work :(
Thanks 4ord! Great SN BTW lol!
I really dig these little pick-ups! The owner was ecstatic! Too bad I couldn't get any better finished pics in the sun. This thing came out really nice!
I'm pretty bummed about the duster situation!
Dude you did an outstanding job!:dblthumb2:

Excellent work and I love watching a good Ford truck get all spiffied up! Also as for the owner, some people just get stuck in their ways of doing things, and don't think about it.. Us detailers gotta have our clients start fresh, and learn the do's and don'ts of car care. lol Great job once again, and happy detailing! This was one of the nicer write-up's I've read on here.:dblthumb2:

P.S. I wish you could have gotten some interior after shots =/ I'm sure it was a pretty drastic turnaround!
Thank You UD!
It really bothered me to get that call! For the first couple days I was upset but I eventually got over it with the help of my sweet GF lol. It was my first experience dealing with a situation like this but I just need to understand that people will do this from time to time even after you school them on how to maintain their finish.

I wish I could have got some interior photos as well! I tried but it was just too dark and I was lucky to get the ones I did being that my time with the vehicle was cut so short! I'm also working with just a camera phone so hopefully sometime soon I can upgrade to something a bit nicer!
It looks very nice you did a great job
Thank you Doug!
That was a very through and fantastic write up.

I would be upset as well if the owner ran a California duster over it.
Thank you for the kind words, Smack!
Great work.
Thank you Johnny B. Goode! ;)

Nice write up!!!!
Thank you Charleston!
Sweet! :props:
Mr. Clean your my herrro!!
You did an amazing job on a neglected NM sun beaten truck! I'm not a detailer, (just a car geek) and it hurts my feelings that it was so neglected.
Just think of how it'd been to do a full multi-step on it. Although the owner probably wouldn't even begin to appreciate it. Perhaps some quality time with him and an explaination of how *not* to take care of it.
Thank you Cardaddy! The amount of sun we get here in NM is crazy and i've seen it do some nasty things to vehicles! I was really excited to do a 2-Step on it and anxious to see the turn out! But like you said, it would've likely gone under appreciated! The owner was so happy the majority of the defects were out I don't believe they would ever think that the paint could get any shinier lol. Oh well at least their happy for not having to pay for the extra step!
I did my best to send a little education their way prior to working on the truck, but I think it went in one hear and straight out the other!
Nice job! What products and tools did you use?
Thank you sir! Oops! Forgot the tools and product list! Look out for my post after I finish responding to everyone and i'll list it there!
Amazing work! Such a shame to hear about what the owner did though.
+1 on what products you used.
Thank you Cristobal! Sorry, thats my brothers name ;)
Nice write up and nice job, I feel your pain I detailed a Fire apparatus all the swirls gone, came in following shift to find they used a tire brush on the paint, my hours of work down the drain. This was after I told each shift how to properly wash the apparatus.
Thank you Bam Bam!
Ouch! I'm sorry to hear that! Now I feel bad for you because that must've been much worse than my situation!
Great job on the truck. It turned out amazing.
TY Wors!
Truck looked amazing after the detail.

Also would like to know what products you used in the engine compartment.
Thank you GSA! Stay tuned for products and tools!
Well done...
Truck looks awesome and very well detailed
Thank you sir!
Awesome job!! Was this a farm truck??
ps am I the only one that noticed the high thickness readings?? 300-400 microns is really thick!
Thank you Andre! Not a Farm truck! But stay tuned for my old subaru I detailed not too long ago, I will be posting up a thread about it! It had damge done from 40 goats hoping on it on a daily basis peeing, pooping, battling etc etc the list goes on lol!
I wish I knew how much thickness was the clear on that truck!

Haha They got all the answers, a GF can be like a on-hand therapist when you need em to be lol. You said it though, just gotta understand how people work.. At least every now and then I get someone who is genuinely interested, and can really appreciate the work I do. Also, I'm in the same boat man, I only got my android phone for pictures. I always want to do write-up's, but the phone sucks for interior shots, and isn't as good as I'd like for paint photos.. maybe Santie Clause will bring us some good cameras this year lol.

Cant wait for that!! I find a good way to get a measurement for the basecoats is to take a few measurements from the door jams. Usually the clear there is thinner than the body, letting you know how thick the basecoats are.
PS its actually Andrew

:)

Very nice job!
Thank you!

Amazing work and great write-up!!!
Comment appreciated

You put it perfectly when it comes to gf's!
The main reason I bought my Razr was for it's 8 megapixel camera haha! I try to the best I can with it! I really like the AG community and have wanted to make a write-up ever since I joined! Finally got around to it and i'm happy to hear the kinda responses! Fingers crossed for good cameras! And lessons to go along with how to use them!

lol Same here, mine has 8 mp too; I figured it would be just as good as a digital camera. Guess I was wrong though lol! Yeah this is a great online community; some of the best detailers on here, and everybody has a lot in common. Haha I hope so, and I DEFINITELY could use some lessons, because those good cameras look pretty sophisticated lol. Anyway, I look forward to your next write-up! Happy Holidays too!:xyxthumbs:
