Wax or Sealant for grey metallic Toyota

I'm a sealant guy all the way. I recently worked on my Mazda3 by stripping all the wax off, applied Chemical Guys EZ Creme glaze all the way around and then applied to coats of Menzerna Power Lock sealant about 12 hours apart. The gloss and shine are ridiculous. I'm in the process of getting a new camera, so hopefully I can get some good pics of my car.

Im a firm believer that light colors benefit more from a sealant than a carnuba based wax. Im interested in CG's Glaze, whats the durability of it vs something like M07?

Well, my car's paint is galaxy grey, which is lighter than a metallic grey, I guess, but it's still a darker color.

The CG glaze made the paint feel smooth and supposedly has really light cleaners and has filling properties, which I noticed it filled in a minor (but difficult to remove) clear coat scratch on my hood. I've never used the M07, so I can't comment. The only other glaze I've used is 3M Imperial Hand Glaze and it provided a lot of shine, I stopped using it and went on to the CG stuff because the 3M smelled like bug spray, lol. Just thought I'd try something new.

The way my car looked after the CG glaze and MPL sealant was amazing. I hosed the car down (light dust had accumulated), sprayed Griot's speed shine detail spray one section at a time and dried the car with a MF drying towel and then gave her another coat of MPL... even crazier looking, lol. After my next wash, I think I'll apply a 3rd coat of MPL... I'm crazy like that.

Very nice. Im looking to replace my M07 with something else. Put the M07 aside for SS paint systems (as it was designed for). On CC paints it works and gives amazing looks, but durability lacks. Hence its called "show car glaze". Doesnt smell great either. I will def get some of CG's stuff and give it a go.

The CG glaze smells great, too. Has a hint of grape to it. :xyxthumbs:

I'm pleased with it. I'm not sure how I'd go about judging its durability, but I was told by someone it would basically prep the paint furthermore for the application of wax or sealant.

To comment on carnauba wax, I've used it in the past, way before I ever got so in depth into detailing my own car like I do now, and I noticed it didn't seem to last long at all. The paint would bead water for few days and then by the end of the week or next car wash, the water would just stick to the paint and sheet off. Then I discovered 3M Performance Finish from my dad, fell in love with that, started doing more research on sealants and came across the MPL and it seems to give off a much more natural look to the paint, not the plastic-y look the 3M gave off.

Forgot to mention, since the recent glaze and double seal on my paint... it's so soft. :) There are a few bugs on the hood and front bumper and they just come right off with hardly any effort. The guys at work make fun of me, but in a cool way, but they know my car is clean. They basically know if someone messed with my car, I'd go nuts, lol.

I have two gray cars. Last detail I went with 2 old school products. Meg's cleaner wax and 476s. Here is the link

Your cars look good, man. Plus, I love the gray. :) When I first bought my car, I wasn't sure I got the right color (Galaxy Grey), but during the 6 years I've had my car, I couldn't have picked a better color. I think the gray is a reflection of my personality, lol. It's pretty much the only color I go for when looking at new cars.

Can never go wrong with Black Light + V7 combo

I'm about to order that combo after seeing that GTI. I can totally see myself stripping XMT/#27 off later this week.

Seriously, that GTI looks amazing!:props:

I have spent a lot of time scouring this site and I want to thank everyone for their help and for being so kind to a newbie trying to figure it out.

Nope, it's a 2008, but it's a very nice car. The back seat leg room is unbelievable.
