OUCH!!!!

wanted to cry when I first saw it. Glad you brought it back from the dead!

Did they wash it with a brillo pad or something???

I love the music with that vid! Good work! Your machines got their workout on that one.

Was that a ford focus ST? And the before paint was out of control. Glad the owner handed the car to you for you to fix.

It was most likely damage by Drive-By detailers. This was the typical paint reading on the car, looks like all of the Ceramic functionality of the paint has be destroyed. Luckily Gtechniq C1 will bring some scratch resistance back.

Thank you very much. I learned a lot about the RUPES machines on this one.

Yes, that's my ST, picked it up a few weeks ago, it had been on order since July. ST3's had a production delay for the HID headlights. It has about 160 miles on it now and won't go out of the garage until at least spring. I'm waiting on some new products to be released before polishing and protecting it. If new products are up to the cut then it'll be 3 coats of C1 & EXO over the highly polished paint.

This picture shows a small test spot I did on the roof to check the clarity I could pull out of the paint, it looks like this Tri-Coat metallic has a lot more beauty to show :props:

:thankyousign:

Can you tell more about your Positector? Is that the one that can measure individual layers such as primer thickness, base coat thickness and clear thickness all separately?

I love that ST!!!

Thanks for the pics!

NP, there will be much more of that car in the future :xyxthumbs:

I don't believe it does, it was actually a present for Christmas so I am still trying to figure everything out with it.

Very nice work!
Whats your Process in Reviving the Paint so well?

The original testing on the hood was done with:
Machine: RUPES LHR 21 & LHR 75
Pads: MF cutting pads & RUPES yellow
Polishes: D300 & SF400
After the hood I switched mainly to D300 & Sonax PF but also used FG400 for some heavier RIDS.

There are still a significant amount of RIDS in the paint but from where the paint was, I think we can live with them. Especially since the owner may be buying a 2013 GT500 anyway. :buffing:

Love everything about that video, except the before:xyxthumbs:. Great work!

Thanks Chris!

Now that mustang was jacked up. Great work.

Looks like the hood dosent sit right on your ST in the last few pics.

Very true, it's a problem from the factory, many ST's have it. I will be messing around with the bumper and hood to try and get a closer fitment.
