Post your MicroFibers

I have the same wash mitt and noticed linting in my wash/rinse buckets. I was pretty surprised.

Good towels are expensive even at 5.00 a towel. I tend to wait for sales and stock up. I probably have 30 towels that have never been used so I am good for a bit. :)

Agreed!

My limit per towel is pretty much at $5 each. I normally purchase Chemical Guys MF in bulk, and they have served me quite well for the price. Don't get me wrong though, I do love the Cobra 530's, 600's, etc - I just have a hard time justifying the expense per towel.

On the other hand, I have no problem with spending $100+ on a high quality paste wax. Maybe my wife is right and I am just slowly losing my mind. :dunno:

Their microfibers are trash, I use them to clean tires and door jambs but even then they rip and lint.

You know, the white ones are from walmart ($10 for 6 i think) and they hold up real well for multipurpose use. They aren't something I would wipe my paint down with but they are great on the interior, door jambs and engine bay.

As for decent microfiber, I bought the blue drying towel from autozone and although it is not bad for the price, the guzzler is far superior. I think i got the white/orange one from there too and it is pretty plush. I use it for wax at the moment but no idea how it compares to others.

Has anyone noticed the grey and black Cobra 530s are hard to keep "together" or folded in 4s during a rinseless wash? Like they are too dense and grabby?

I have this drives me crazy. I use them to remove wax and sealant and I am constantly refolding them.

I have had the green wash mitt from AZ well over a year and I have had no issues with it falling apart or having lint anywhere.

Really? Do you use it for Rinseless washes? I went to Big Lots a few months back and got some no name microfibers. 36 for $20 bucks. I was suprised how well they held up. No rips, no tears. Although they a little on the thin side, I've used them on my paint and have not noticed any micro marring....yet. There a very light pastel yellow in color with a grey border. I will take a snapshot sometime. Big Lots also has great deals on some OTC products from time to time as well. Mother's Carnuba Spray Wax & Mother's Showtime Detailer spray goes on sale for $3.50. 24oz for the spray wax & 16oz for the detailer spray. I picked up 15 bottles of each :D

SUPER overpriced !!!

Detailed Image sells the same towel for half the price and i'm sure their making a decent profit at the listed price. Its called the REThickulous at Detailed Image.com.

I have a bone to pic with Adams Polish's for charging double for a towel that costs nowhere near that price. Since I found this out I refuse to give Adams a single cent of my hard earned money. Thats pure thievery ! I'm sure Adam himself is a very nice gentleman but the company itself gets away with things like this because of uneducated customers not being able to openly discuss topics on there forum. I could pretty much guarantee that he loses many customers once they realize the price gouging. There no excuse for that much of a markup IMO. a few dollars sure, but thats drug dealer profit.

Interesting... I really like these towels... but not the price tag!

^ very nice set. What brand are those pink ones?

Cobra plush deluxe 600 I think they are.

For some reason their looking pink on my phone. I have 3 of those coming in, what do you use these for? Rinseless washes? I keep hearing people say plush cobras like the 600's, gold's tend to bunch up and not stay folded when removing polishes or waxes.

They can bunch up but my goodnes they are soft and plush. I use mine for quick detailer and spray wax. Love em!

Hmm spray wax & quick detailing it is. What do you guys recommend as THE best polish/LSP removal towel? I bought 5 Meguiar's Final Wipe edgeless towels, waiting to get those in to try. I also got 3 Cobra gold jr's.

Don't have a specific towel to recommend (I use one that's available from a local seller), but I've found that short-strand MFs work better for polish/wax removal than the more plush ones (which tend to not have enough "bite" to remove residue easily, and tend to bunch up as they get dragged down by said residue).

this thread makes me want to buy $300 worth of MF towels right now hahaha

The chinchilla MF's on BOGO are super soft and fluffy. Used for buffing I believe.

Thank you all for posting all your microfiber pictures.
I'm new to the detailing world and I recently bought a whole lot of microfiber towels.
I thought something was wrong with me and then I saw your pictures. It's good to see I'm not the only one who likes to indulge deeply into a hobby.

Hmmm that is true. What do you guys think of those Costco towels for polish/lsp removal? Now I know what your thinking "whaaaa cheap towels touching my paint? Never" I used these no name MF's from big lots. Short strand, pastel yellow in color with a gray border. I use them to remove polish & lsp on my BUTTER soft Honda paint. Havent seen any micro marring or scratching.

Too bad I cant say the same when I used a water blade to dry my paint...never again......
