My awesome wife bought me a Griot's DA for Christmas from Autogeek. It came with a bonus pack of foam pads. (3) each white and (2) each blue. Can anyone tell me what brand these are and their usage? I "assume" the the blue is more aggressive. They are 6.5" OD and the back side is red on all of them. They have a smooth surface and the front edge is rounded. Thanks!

Hammer, it sounds like they are Lake Country Flat Pads. If the white is more firm than the blue they are. The white is used for polishing and the blue can be used for applying sealants and waxes.

If you received the gift from your wife in it's original box, there might probably was a packing slip in among the packing material. Worth a look-see.:)

Nothing on the invoice :(

here's some pics

Oooooh! Those are the constant pressure pads from Lake Country. This style is discontinued IIRC. They have switched to a CCS style dimpled pattern on the new ones.

I believe the ones with the white face are for medium/light polishing and the ones with the blue face are called "finessing" pads and can be used for final polishing or applying wax/sealant. I grabbed a couple of the finessing pads a while back and so far I like them best for rotary use.

They must have changed the blue finessing pad to a black finessing pad since the backing is blue now instead of red.
