What to use on faded plastic trim that lasts?

Everything topical is temporary. I see many have their preferences and loyalties which is a good thing. I've tried many things and like CG Natural Shine Dressing the best. It is a glossy finish to start out with which is fine. The gloss stays for a week or so then has a natural look to it that seems to last a long time. I detail my cars more than the average person (not that anyone here is average) so I'm not sure just how long it will last but the bottom line is it's a great product for all plack plastic trim.

Have you tried it?
I haven't, but those "as seen on TV" infomercial crack me up. This thing is advertised to restore exterior plastic trim, restore your internal vinyl, dash pad.... and even your LEATHER. The kicker is the advertisement also shows that the product is excellent for headlight restoration. IT IS A MIRACLE!.... and all of that for the low low price of $19.95!!!!

But wait..... for the next few callers, we will double the offer for the same low price of $19.95 (just pay separate shipping and processing).

BUT WAIT.... if you call within the next 3 minutes we will not only double your offer but we will send you an extra kit to share with your friends, if you promise that you will advertise for us (just pay seperate shipping and processing)

BUT WAIT....... :nomore:

Anyone use dg 271???
Yes. Amazing product. I'm surprised it hasn't been mentioned in this thread yet. Restored my faded wiper cowl to brand new. And for around $8 it's cheap. What I like about it is that it's heavily solvent based so it cleans the trim while bonding to it, unlike most dressings. Be sure to buff off when finished :xyxthumbs:

My car was applied with it over three months ago and it is still beading water like crazy and has a nice, dark, satin look. Get it!

Here's a 50/50 shot of a car I applied it to recently.

I've yet to be disappointed with a DG product. Love the 321 non-silicone dressing on my tires.

Poorboy's Trim Restorer is a great product and it smells sooooo good. It's easy to apply but the downside is it doesn't last long and runs when it gets wet....

Short and Sweet! :props:

Sold....will be ordering some D Lux. I don't mind doing it every couple months. But I don't want it to be greasy, sticky, and have it run when it gets wet.

Thanks all for the input, it's greatly appreciated.

I've used Poorboys trim restorer for the last 5 years. It does work great but doesn't last and will run on the paint when it gets wet. I then tried 303 aerospace and it works the same but doesn't run and lasts longer.

Try Meguiar's Ultimate Wax (liquid).

My truck has a boat load of black 'bumpy plastic' stuff-mirror heads, fascia, cowling, on and on. The stuff really does good job AND it does NOT stain nor leave behind the infamous white residue.

Just my $.02

D lux has been on my mom in law's Subaru for 3 month's and still looks great. Outside 24/7

I used Wolfgangs Trim and Sealant on the black plastic on the grille, and the brown cladding along the bottom, and it worked good for me.

I use autoglym bumper & trim gel, also surf city garage blackmax

not together obviously but they work pretty well

I'm using PoorBoys Trim restorer,
as noted it does not last long.
