Electronic Cigarettes, anyone?

I started off at the 24 mg dosage, I didn't set any specific time frames but I'd say it was a goo three months before I decided to "step down" and, at the time, 12mg was the next step.

Turns out that wasn't enough nicotine! Not to worry though, I found out that the cartomizers (the cartridge that connects to the battery, it both contains the atomizer element and holds the "juice") a company that would hand mix and had great flavors.. So they hooked me up with a bottle of 24mg and a big bottle of 0mg to cut with...

As you can guess, it didn't take me long to realize that the nicotine was the "culprit" for my cravings. So I simply started the process of cutting it further and further back until the "nic" was all gone.

I still puffed on the zero MG ecig until I ran out of "juice", then I just set it down.. At that point it was easy cause there was really no addiction, just a silly and pointless habit! lol

By comparison though, I have a friend who started at the same time as me and has never cut back on the nicotine at all.. He's saved a ton of money, he's healthier and he smells better.. So now he's got a girlfriend!

Things to avoid:
1. go to the ecig forums and study up on the latest.. Even my info is over a year old and may not be accurate.

2. Tinkering. It'll be difficult, but avoid ordering 20 different flavors in 10 different strengths, it burns money.

3. Remember, your brain will be fooled but your body will not. You will most likely experience physical side effects, like withdrawals but minimal in comparison.
For example:
Acne. For the first three months I had acne flare ups like I was a teenager again! lol
or when the guys in the office would huddle up for a smoke outside, suddenly the office would feel very cold and I'd simply have to go get some fresh air.

But that's the worst stuff I can remember, and that stuff only lasted a few weeks.

One thing that never happened.. I never craved a cigarette once it was apparent that I could get the nicotine another way. Not once. lol

Anyway, I'm rambling again. Feel free to pick my brain all you like though!
Thanks.... Just one more question. How long does the bottle last??? I am trying to figure out how much to buy initially. I am thinking of starting with a 30 days supply.

I'm at 24mg as well. A 10ml bottle can last me a week and a half or two.

I just edited that post slightly, I forgot to explain the refillable cartos in paragraph two...

As for how long a bottle lasts? A milliliter per day, maybe two if you're a "hard core" vaper...

Again, my info is from over a year ago, but back then:
a battery and charger were $30-50 and would last indefinitely.
The cartomizers were $10 for a 5 pack, were labeled as disposable but were totally refillable and would last until the atomizer gummed up, so from as little as 20 refills to indefinitely
The Juice was $10-15 for 30ML, less if ordered from specialists like Tasty Vapors out of California

When I got down to zero nic I estimated that I was spending less than $5 a month.

Thanks Guys!!!! I have the site on another tab on my browser right now and it is asking for battery option. Automatic or manual. what is the difference? I can't seem to find any info from the site.

Go to Myfreedomsmokes.com and click starter kits on the left. Look at the ego-t or the ego-c.

Both are the same, but the c is a newer version and has different circuitry. Automatic cigs will fire up as soon as you start to draw, manuals have a button that you press and hold that in turn fires the atomizer that burns the liquid.

Make sure to get a pack of low resistance cartomizers. You need to replace them after a few weeks because the filament will eventually get burned which makes it taste icky.

Then grab 2 or 3 bottles of liquid that sound good enough to try. Chris at MFS mixes all his juices himself. Awesome guy to do business with!

Well that "appears" to be the same as my KR808 Battery/Cartomizer set up, so it looks like not much has changed.

To answer your question as best I can:

The difference between a manual and an automatic is that the automatic engages the power by "taking a drag", the manuals battery is actually a button on the side of the battery.

There are positives and negatives for both, there were entire threads that were dedicated to it back when I was active on the forums.

I definitely defer to Chase, sounds like he's more in touch with the current tempo of that market... :)

Forum consensus is 2-3 ml/day. However, new vapers tend to chain vape due to the "newness" of it all.
I'm a chain vaping dripper and I average less than 2 ml/day. Higher on the weekends. YMMV.

There should be tons of vapor shops in your area.

:props:

What did you settle on?

I went with the ecab starter kit and a 125ml bottle of juice at 24mg. I was going to use the money to pick up some supplies here at AGO. Sorry AGO. the good thing is...you'll have a customer who has a longer life span that will spend more money in the long run. :dblthumb2:

Thanks again guys.

BTW....

Fishincricket- I like the story about your friend who started this and now he has a new girlfriend. I like the idea but I don't think my wife would care for it much.

Nice purchase!

Just a word of advice though... The first time you order a new juice, order a small 10ml bottle. It sucks when you order a juice and can't stand to vape it. Which juice did you get?

The ecab is a newer product. Watch mfs' review of it if you have any questions during set up. Also, I'd pick up an extra battery or two. These are smaller batteries compared to the ego. My 650mah ego-t would make it through most of my day before I had to batteries, the 1000mah (or maybe even bigger) ego-c that I've lost would go 2 days without an issue for me.

The ecab has a 350mah battery. So keep one loaded in and another charged and in your pocket that is ready to go.

I picked up a 125ml bottle of US light - E liquid. If I don't like it then I will order another flavor. Its still cheaper than spending $7 a pack (I live in California- tobacco tax).

Honestly, I never knew there are so many people who is doing this. This is a good find for me since I tried just about everything else with the exception of "Electrical Shock" therapy.:laughing:

This is true! Energy Cow (red bull) and Lemon Tea are also great. They were the two I ordered last. This order was Blue Motorcycle and Peppermint Bark (very highly recommended by alot of his customers judging from the reviews)

Whe it comes to ecigs, I always find myself going for sweet flavors... Dunno why.

MFS has a lot of flavors to choose from though. I ordered both of those in 10ml sizes. I'll be ordering a few more in a larger size within a week. Soldiers Blend is said to be really good, as well as RY4 (most popular tobacco flavor).

I just smoked my last cigarette (hopefully) until my order arrives. I paid 25$ for 2 day via usps. I can't wait much longer than that... Should be at my door by Saturday.
