Microfiber Crazy

^^^ Great info man, I will def buy some of those VROOM towels & check them out. Would you say they are better than Costco's for polish/wax removal?

Get the same identical towel from DI for half the price.:xyxthumbs:

Believe it or not, but my Adam's Double Microfiber Towel is MUCH softer than my Deluxe 600 Cobra Microfiber Towel... which was the softest towel I knew of before the Adam's.

Quite expensive though.

I was looking into towels by doctor joe. They have a sale going on for some of the cheaper towels. I wonder if they would be okay for paint. Has anyone ever tried these? They are 16x16 and sell in a bulk of 50, various colors.

The softest towel to me is the Cobra 530. That's only because that is the only "quality" towel that I own/tried. I have the Gold and Lavender plush ones on the way.

You bet they are. My local pro detailer uses and carrys that brand. He does HIGH end european classic cars. Just recently did a full restoration on a VW bug, the owner had it dropped at his shop and shipped to Europe for a show.

Thanks for the reply. Time to break out the MasterCard again...sigh.

I've never used the Costco MF towels, so I can't compare the two, but I have no issues with my VROOM towels. They remove waxes, sealants and polishes with ease, they clean up nicely in the wash, and they're not falling apart on me yet. =) They're pretty cheap price wise, too. Under 10 bucks if I remember correctly. Almost thought of buying more, but I'm kinda set on MF towels for a while.

You're welcome. Anytime. I like to share with other people the things that work for me.

If you get the VROOM towels, let me know how they work for you. I've had mine for maybe a year... maybe longer, and I've never been less than satisfied with them. Maybe I should buy more just in case Target ever stops carrying them, lol.

Right now im using these pastel yellow ones you see below from Big Lots. They are thin, but have not linted on me and have held up well suprisingly. 36 in a pack for like 12 something. I use them for removing polish & wax/sealant.

Cant think of the brand but Big Lots doesnt carry them right now, I think they are seasonal.

Here at AG...these are the best towel and the best bang for the buck.

Super Soft Deluxe Blue Microfiber Towels, microfiber detailing towels, buffing towels, micro fiber towel, detail cloth

I use these towels for everything paint related.........as a side note I own about 10 dozen and I want more!

10 dozen MF towels... Ladies and gentlemen, we have a winner. So does this mean that my obsession with MF is normal or am I not crazy alone? BTW, your right those towel are great. I own 2 dozen of them.

I looked at those towels on Adam's website. I will be in the fight with myselp all day today to keep from buying 3 or 6 of them. In fact i'm getting weaker already.

Very normal. One can't have enough MFs. AG sells nice MFs. Watch for them to go on BOGO and stock up.

I use the 600-530 cobra MF towels from AG to remove dirt when traveling to auto shows. Is there another towel you guys recommend for that to prevent marring ? Or the ones I'm using now fine ?

I hear alot about those zaino blond towels. I tried to pre-order a few but they don't do that. So I put myself on the email list. I'll be looking for the word from them that they have them. Junkman highly recommends them.

The zaino blond towels are out of this world nice. Problem is, I cannot justify buying MF towels @ $8/each. Just too much for me, especially since I have been ordering comparable towels in bulk at a fraction of that cost.

Dude I have those and they are super plush, what more could you want.

I like the Griots garage towels. They work for me as they are color coded and seem to do the job. If there is a better product I would be willing to try it but these do work.

Ohh Lord. Now I gotta go do research.

:bump:
I buy the 36 pack of microfibers from costco. All you need

Im thinking of buying those. I use cheap MF's on my Honda's baby soft paint. No issues. You used the Costco ones on your paint?

I know this thread died out a couple weeks ago, but I had something to share. ;)

Was looking at the Eurow towels and noticed the 660's seem to lint quite a bit, that's not something a quality towel should do, so I'll pass. BUT... the Costco towels seem to be the Eurow 350's. Except at Eurow they are $21.90 and you may or may not get free shipping, yet at Costco they are like $17.00. :)

I get the wife to pick them up several times a year and have always had good luck with them. Not as great as boutique towels, but great to have around. Besides, they meet Tuscora Daves requirement of being bundled as well as completely sealed in plastic. :)

IIRC, CM8 6MT was asking about older Costco Eurow before. Since you've brought it up, I'm going to use this opportunity and point out something I've noticed:

Older Costco Eurow towels were significantly better than recent batches; both softness and absorbancy. Newer towels seemed to push liquid around and have much stronger odor than I remember. I bought not one, but three, and had to return to get a refund 3 separate times. Tried washing it - no good. I'm a little embarrassed to admit this is the main reason why I step up to 'boutique' microfibers. I was more than satisfied with Costco yellows, and would have been there still for not the change. Also, visually you could tell the difference between the old vs new by the tag. The older towel has Eurow's symbol, whereas the new is just plain white tag with care instruction & fiber content.
