SON1C Synopsis 25 : Chemical Guys - Lava Luminous Glow Infusion Paste Wax 243 ml Review

I support the OP's assessment and conclusion. Lava has the smell and consistency of sherbet, is nearly invisible when applied, and hardly even hazes (I usually let it go for about 30 minutes).

I thought it was just me thinking my car had become a dust magnet, or that maybe Hawaii had some strange pollen release in the early winter.

Also, after 6 months, when I looked into the tub there was green mold growing in it. Not the case with the other four paste waxes I had at the time.

thanks for reporting in with that frankberry, since this review I've heard of 3 weird mold cases with lava, seems like chemical guys really dropped the ball on this one and yet they still push it as some epic game changing wax / product..
but like said it seems our thoughts are basically identical on the product, perhaps you could contact chemical guys and ask for a replacement wax (of another one of their waxes such as petes 53 or 50/50)

I e-mailed CG twice before ordering from them with a few questions. I gave them pertinent info on my ride, what I wanted to accomplish, and numerically listed my three questions. The first woman gave me a 3/4-line response without capitalization or punctuation. The second guy gave me a two-line, unpunctuated, grammatically-incorrect response that didn't address my questions at all - but at least he told me he worked at CG's "detailing university" or some such crap.

I called CG upon receiving my order and before using a couple products. I had two questions of a technical nature, and received a "yeah, yeah, that should work" reply. The guy was dumb as rocks or didn't give two hoots about customer service.

I'll never deal with CG again due to their pathetic excuse for customer service. I'll just order the Mr.Pink & Glossworkz shampoos, Grey Matter & Gold Plush towels, and 50/50 wax that I like from outside vendors like AG.

I called Chemical Guys and inquired about Lava. I was hoping for a bit of a chat. I got, "It's not my favorite." and silence. No follow up question, no what are you trying to do? I just said "thanks, bye."

Incompetent kids. We should all gather up our pots of Lava and throw them in a volcano.

thats poor customer service as well, whereas they need great customer service because their product description could only leave us with 100 questions..

I think I had the same guy. I ordered 5.5" pads, and they sent me 6.5". He told me "they'll work". They sent me a replacenent set of 6.5" pads at no charge though.... SMH.... I was accommodated by another person working there. Weeks later they finally got it right.
