Definition of a "Chick Car"?

To say what is and isn't a chick car is hard to judge. We need a set of points or constants that classify a car as eeither a chicks car, or a mans car.
My general rule is goes on how the car is described by a girl. To the average girl:

Silver Honda Accord and a Silver C63 are both considered - "silver car"

Hummer H2 - Ugly D-Bag mobile

72 Chevelle 454 - Old Car/Classic Car

Honda Odessey - That mom has a cute baby - I dont want a baby, oh hey you know who....

VW Beetle in Orange - Cute Car

All you guys on here though, you are totally worrying too much about this. Take a look at this list!

i just checked out that article lol the camaro was on there, others i can see why they made the list

Pontiac Sunfire = chick car LOL

Yup, how I gauge a "chick car" is look around, the cars you see chicks driving the most...those are chick cars. Gran Am, Sunfire, cabriolet, TC. Probably can think of more on my way to work tonight. LOL

Here in the Bay Area, you'd more than likely spot a lady driving a 3 series BMW or a Mini Cooper before you see one behind the wheel of a Miata.

Here's a pic of my "chick car"....gets chicks all the time :D

SB 400 or 455?
I had the 400 in a 73GTO and even though it was a big ol' freakin' car with "Tiger Paw G60's all around, and an automatic it'd chirp 2nd each and evey single time. Twas' a great dating car at the drive-in too! We'd hang a sheet across behind the front seat when on double dates and do some 'serious' movie watching.

No car screams CHICK like the late model VW Beetles! Vase is standard equipment. Nuff said!

What kind of car was it you saw that dirty old man in mam? It was a silver car!

Glad Rashida looks like her mother, (who was pretty hot in her day) rather than Quincy (her dad). He is otoh a GOD in the recording industry. Too bad I'm old enough to be Rashida's dad as well. :o

Then again, if we're talking about the "over 40" group. Here's one that'll stay on my list till..... till..... oh, got distracted..... forever! Catherine Bell

Something that is usually on the cheaper end and has low pickup and low power. Usually is also very close to the ground and has lots of defects in it. Not to stereotype, but most don't know what engine is in it in the first place

OMG. Lexus LX350 is a chick car. I looked at one and the salesWOMAN said "It even has a purse-holder above the gear shifter and like 31 cupholders for baby formula." I wasn't married at the time. Go ahead and laugh, laugh it up, everyone else has.

Hope I didn't razz ya' too bad. ;) Just brought back that memory. :)

Cardaddy

Nope, you didn't. It just comes with the territory of driving a smaller vehicle. Then again, it could be worse... cough, smart car, cough. I can't imagine ever feeling safe in one of those. =O

In my book, I have to make my own safety through careful driving. I can't rely on a Miata to do it for me. =O

She can ride along, and I wouldn't care if it made my car any more girly. =D :goodpost:

Don't feel bad. My dd is a Subaru Forester aka "Lesbaru."

On the weekends, though...Dorsoduro 750.

My kids say this is a girly car.

The first time we saw a Smart was in Germany in 2006. I went with my daughters German class for 2 AWESOME weeks. There was this Cop car sitting there and the 8 of us in one group that day, (only me and one kid were guys). We picked it up and turned it around while the cops watched!

It was soooooooooooo funny!

Lol wow, that's good. I would have paid to see that. =D :dblthumb2:

I bought my '07 MX-5 last year. I fall into the 40-50 year old male with graying hair category. I jokingly call it my "Mid-life Crisis". The first comment I got about the car was "oh, that's cute". I shrugged it off because driving is FUN again. If people think it's a "chick car", that's fine; I don't care. Yeah, I get some looks when I'm driving it; I just tell myself they are jealous because they can't drop the top when the weather is nice. And, of course, after a good detail, my ride puts theirs to shame.

As for some of the safety issues mentioned, I'd never let my kids take it out (I have two daughters). Because it's such a small car, you do have to drive more defensively and anticipate what other drivers may be about to do. I always have my lights on and spend minimal time in other peoples blind spots. That type of driving awareness only comes with time behind the wheel and my girls just don't have that yet.

Okay, I'm going to lunch now. And yes, I'll be dropping the top and cruising over to where ever I decide to eat. And all the people can look at me and say "look at that old dude trying to relive the past". I'm good with that. :xyxthumbs:

If i was a single man, id go out and buy myself a pink camaro and ride around all the local colleges. Bound to get somebody to ride with me. ;-)
