Is there any Polish or AIO that won't stain black trims ?

That's pretty disappointing... it seems to me there's no AIO that will cut like D151 without staining trims....

another trick is to apply dressing to your trim before polishing. It makes it very hard for the polish to stick to the trim even if left on for a few hours.

But then wouldn't the dressing stick to the pad and make the paint a mess ?

Are your dressings greasy? The dressings I typically use dry within a few minutes max and most are dry within thirty seconds

The only one I got is the Meguiars Ultimate Protectant... and it seems to not dry that fast.... on non porous plastics it won't dry at all

Which one do you use ?

Ahummm.... this is curious.... I always have it to stain.... although like you said... if I thoroughly clean the trim right after, it won't stain, but then it would defeat the idea which is to save time... right ?

Well it might take an extra 30s to take the towel and quickly wipe it off before you wipes the residue off. Thats what I do.

Try 303 Aerospace, or really anything low silicone/waterbased

CarPro PERL and Adam's SVRT. Both dry very very quickly.

Sweet guys... thank you for your suggestion.

BTW I also have already used Ultima Trim and Tire Guard Plus, and it's great! Unfortunately I've sold mine to a friend and haven't bought a new one still... it also cures dry fast... :nomore:

I've being tempt into trying PERL... I've real nice things about it

What about Optimum GPS guys !?!
Will it stain trims ?! I also saw reviews where it cuts pretty nice... I might go with it.

I haven't used mine in a couple of years, but IIRC I used a foam applicator, pea-sized drop, rub it in until it's dry. I think they have a vid on MOL. It worked pretty well, but it was a lot of work with all that rubbing, and forget it on a wiper cowling with a lot of ridges.

Any product with abrasives will stain trim. Poliseal & GPS may stain if just wiped on but don't usually when applied via machine and worked a bit. The reason is the abrasives diminish and the sealant darkens the part simultaneously. D151 & XMT 360 work similarly from my experience and every product I've mentioned wipes off easily so you'd just have to be rushing or sloppy to have that issue...or maybe applying too much product.

I get it Chris... well... I actually get so freaked out everytime I touch a trim (that I forgot to tape somehow), that it doesn't go past this, a simple touch... I've never worked a polish over it....

Another thing, isn't GPS a smat liquid ?!
