Another First Place Win for an Autogeek Project Car!

Just talked to Jon, the owner of the 1965 Mustang Fastback GT that we wetsanded, cut and buff a few weeks ago. Jon's Mustang took first place in his category at the 2013 19th Annual Ford and Mustang Roundup.

Here's the link to the car show winners...

I did a quick Google image search and found these two pictures from this years show that have red fastback Mustangs in them, I think Jon's is in the first picture...

Look to the middle right and you'll see a red Mustang Fastback, I think this is Jon's 65 we sanded and buffed and then put the C1 Crystal Lacquer on.

The second fastback on the right behind the silver Mustang is a 1966 (I think).

Congratulations Jon!

Jon is going to stop by this week or next week with his first place award and I'll get a picture to add to this thread.

Here's the link to the write-up for this project cars. There is 4 hours of video from this live broadcast and it's filled with tons of tips and techniques on how to machine sand, hand sand, use a rotary buffer, use a Flex 3401 and DA polishers too. We also go over how to chemically strip the paint and apply the Gtechniq C1 Crystal Lacquer.

I would congratulate Jon but since he does`nt have a computer I`m afraid it would fall on deaf ears..........

Ah what the heck

CONGRATULATIONS JON!!!!! :dblthumb2:

Congrats Jon! Glad to see the evening efforts won the judges approval. Hope to see you around on Thursdays evenings putting the shine to some other cool cars.

This is a trend I like to see. Cars come to Autogeek as swirled-out messes and end up winning first place awards at future car shows.

Makes you feel like a proud Dad, 'yeah, I made it look that way'.
:props:

You always produce stunning results worthy of awards.

What I really like about these kinds of first place wins is the fact that often times we have a group of both seasoned professionals and absolute newbies to both car detailing and machine polishing and in the case of the 1965 Mustang, machine wetsanding.

So people that attend these Thursday night projects not only have the opportunity to work on some really cool cars but they also have the opportunity to learn new techniques plus how to use products and tools that are new to them.

Plus the seasoned professional detailers that take part are always helpful and professional, always willing to share correct procedures plus their own unique style that works for them.

You always produce stunning results worthy of awards.

Nah... it's always a team effort and credit goes to the team. This is why after we've completed a project car I do my best to get a group photo showing the team.

Like this one from the Mustang wetsanding project...

The A-Team
Here's the A-Team that is responsible for the results to Jon's cool Mustang minus Scott the painter who had to leave a little eary...
