Hydro techs for simplicity otherwise buff n shine flats all the way
Buff n shine makes the hex logic pads as well FYI
And the logic behind hex logic makes no logic
Not saying they're bad pads, flats are just better
didn't seen buff n shine flats
I have the second gen and I would recommend the third gen. The switches are in super inconvenient locations.
I unscrewed the motor from the head, and rotated the switch to the top. Much better now.
The 3rd gen has the speed control on the top of the handle, which makes it easier to change speeds without lifting the polisher.
Dont get me wrong. If I knew that the 3rd gen was available when I got mine, I wouldve got it. But I found out after the fact.
Just letting everyone know that the button can be rotated to the top is all.
Thanks for all the advice.. Not doing them all in the same day and My scenario has changed so Looks like things should work better for me. here's my new scenario.
Client wants just an overall clean up job on a white nissan murano that he is trading in.
Next week I will be coming back over to do his
Silver SL 500 and
Gray bmw 330ci.
SO I have decided to place an order for more LC pads today during the 15% off sale and free shipping over 125.
Quick Question... Are the pads they sell at Autozone or advanced auto parts good enough to use as back up pads till the other good stuff arrives?
This is my planning for the white murano.
Wash/ IronX / Clay / AIO XMT 360 and top with Light Fantastic.
His only concern area is the Hood . other than that the car is in pretty good condition and is being sold . so no worries if this one doesn't come out 100% like I want and plan to do with the benz and bimmer
I just need this one to look good enough.. I figured I could mostly concentrate using the D/A for this job on the hood . Hand for the rest if I have to ...
unless pads from AZ or AAP stores would get me by..
Thoughts?
try out the cyan low profile hydro tech pads 3x of them
as well as 3x tangerines (most love these)
it's definitely fine to switch things up, just make sure you know what the colors mean as it can be a bit confusing at first especially when mix and matching lines
with 12 pads you'll be pretty set however I don't know what pads you chose with your polisher
hydrotechs imo are the best hands down for ease of use, versatile, simple, very good pads, however what was sacrificed for this was their life span (not extremely short, but do not last as long as a normal flat pad does) ime
Unless you can find Megs pads locally I'd pass on whatever else they might have. (Although 3M's can be found sometimes, perhaps NAPA but they are REALLY EXPENSIVE.) Better bet to just order the LC's here.
Plan on the Nissan is fine. Just make sure to do your test spot as it is a diminishing product so you'll have an idea how long it works / how much product / how many section passes to get the results you need.
Willing to bet the MB and BMW would respond well to Menzerna. I've not used it yet but I have a plan. (No big secret that I'm a big Meg's fan.) I'm trying to get my neighbor to stop wiping down his X5 M Series with a darned old washrag and hardly any soap. Took him some ONR a couple of weeks ago hoping he'd start to see the light.Thought I'd offer to do his X5 if he will buy the Menzerna.
(Figured I'd end up with 3~4 bottles of product outta' that deal.)

With the pad combo I suggested you can ideally tackle anything, some harder paints will require more aggressiveness even though the defects may not be as severe
Cool, thats what I will go with then..
Just want sure If i need to add anything like a second white pad or second green or black pad
Thanks for looking out for your fellow forum members :dblthumb2:
