I had an idea to pick up some extra cash and make some new friends, maybe advertising paint correction, either online or at the car shows and stuff? Here's what I've got so far, the idea was to solicit "paint correction", not "my kids are messy" detailing jobs, if that makes sense..

There could be several reasons that you decided to click on this advertisement.. Its possible you are looking to spruce up your current ride? Maybe you've just bought a brand new car and are considering a modest investment to protect its shiney new finish, but aren't sure where to start? Could it be that scratches and swirls are making your otherwise gorgeous car look ugly? Perhaps you bought a slick car that had a "glaze wax" that has now faded and revealed those unsightly swirls, buffer holograms and fine scratches?

This unsightly finish is usually completely reparable and, with the right approach and the correct techniques I can not only make your car look absolutely amazing but as part of my service I can also teach you how to maintain this finish, either on your own or with a maintenance plan.

Consultation is always free, I am happy to share the knowledge I have learned and my rates, if you elect, are quite reasonable... Contact me by replying to this ad.

Include a photo of a swirl mark, a hologram, and a 50/50 of their repair

I'd have to slightly re-write if it went into flyer or blog form, but I could transfer this to digital via social media sites and really make some hay!!

BTW, I don't intend to really start in on this until I've done a few more cars AT LEAST and have all the proper equipment.. Shouldn't take long though, I do have a lot full to chose from!!

Just spitballing for now, and putting this out for others to pick up as well, if they so choose.

Any thoughts? Critiques? Suggestions?

I not a huge fan on flyers or Craigslist ads they have never gotten me one customer. Word of mouth, car shows or club get togethers is where 90% of my customers come from. Showing your work is huge no one with $100,000 car is going to let you touch there car until they see your work or there friend recommends you.I know people who have spent lot of $$$$$ and no results.

I agree. There is nothing wrong in trying, but, be aware you may not pull any business from Craigslist. Especially, when there are so many "pro" detailers advertising on Clist for full details for $50. Also, it's my opinion that people looking for detailing on Clist are the same type who buy the Groupon deals. They want it all for nothing, so, to discourage that type of customer stand firm in your pricing/requirements.

These were my initial thoughts too, actually... That's why I thought I'd bounce the idea around here first. For example:
If I were to do a flyer, I wouldn't put the on windshields, they would be my visual aids at these car shows and such..

Good points though, keep em coming..
