My truck has sat for 3 years

Sorry to Hijack this for a moment but I couldn't help myself....sort of like buying more detailing supplies.....

OH did I get a kick out of this!! :props:

Tony, I believe you and I "are" on the same page!!

The 386's with Window's 3.0 were state of the art back in the day and if you were lucky you had 8mb of RAM and 120mb hard drive.....Put on your seat belt because we were entering WARP speed.....

Backup's were done on a 300mb 12 platter disk that was about 10 inches high by 14 or so inches in diameter. The drive that contained this massive storage was approximately 24" wide, 48" long, and 40" or so high....Yup, this was 1983.......

:hijacked: Just a lil' bit more....

My first one Bobby, had 516K RAM with a 20MEG drive, the next one, not a year later still a 386 had 4mb with a 40 MB drive, both Hewlett Packard(s). Followed by a 486 (finally) with 4mb, 80mb drive.

Backups (on the 2nd & 3rd ones) were done on a tape drive, (I got that idea from my wifes work as that is what they used). Ended up making that thing scream by adding a 4 meg caching drive controller to it.

Funny thing is... I bet if I dug around enough I might fine 1 or 2 of those in a pile somewhere.

Back to your normally scheduled programming.........

You must have missed this from Bruce while you were busy:

Feb 24 is good foe me, if it is OK we can set up for the 24th I have plenty of microfiber towels, drying and buffing. I have a HF DA polisher and some HF pads. I am ordering a 5" backing plate and Mike's book and video. I am looking forward to meeting you guys and learning about detailing.

I did in fact miss that !

Ok, so let's rally around the 24th date as a starting point..Will PM volunteers and let's see who has what, who brings what, and so on....

This is going to turn out great !

I'm wondering where to put the sign up thread where it would be most effective? Maybe a new forum header like "Member Meets" would be the best place?

Thoughts?

We can just start it here.

BTW, a PM has gone out to Bruce regarding the 24th...

Ok, so let's start to consider supplies ! I know y'all have a huge bunch - much more than I - so instead of trying to cover it all, can we work in terms of making sure we have something product wise to cover all areas in the general sense? Does that make sense? Maybe a google spreadsheet with each general area (prep, polish, polish tools, mf's, waxes, sealants, glass, canopies, ladders/stepstools, tire and rim) and having each volunteer check that they can bring items to cover in this area?

In addition, we will need canopies, coolers, ladders/stepstools, cameras..

Here is my supplies

Pads: CG Hex Logic, Buff N Shine,Megs Microfiber Pads all 5.5"

I took a crack at creating a Google Docs spreadsheet using david11g35's list above, as well as my own. PM me your email address and I can share it w/ you guys and I can modify as need be based on your comments.

If I have time, I can pass by and take some quick photos this Thursday or can try on Saturday. (Feb 07 or Feb 09)

Won't take up much time, at least everybody can see what to kind of expect.

I have a Friday meeting up in Torrance this Friday.

Wish I could make it for the 24th but cannot.

Awesome post, please keep us updated!

Bruce welcome to one of the most awesomest forums ever. If Disneyland was a online place it would be called Autogeek :)

Sent you a link, as well as david11g35. Let me know if it works. 1st time creating one from Google Docs.

Thanks for your generosity Bigbull! I do think we've got it covered, but we'll let you know. rms64 aka Rob also had the same sentiments. My thoughts would be a maintenance package for Bruce, something that's easy for him to work a few panels at a time, since he said he's only got the energy to work for an hour or two at a time.

Once we get our list compiled, we can get back to you.
